Batik Fabric Winner from Quilting Gail
Way back in August of this year, fellow blogger and friend Quilting Gail held a giveaway. Part of the Island Batik Ambassador blog hop, Gail held her own giveaway of some beautiful batik fabrics. Ooh-la-la. A few weeks passed between the post and the announcement of the winners – there are two of us who won – because she departed on a wonderful vacation adventure. Once she returned to real life that didn’t include an African safari, she realized she had a bagful of batik fabrics waiting to be sent out.
Forty different batik fabric pieces . . . aren’t these just so gorgeous?! Because I said I love Fall, and these fabrics just summarize Fall with a Capital F . . . something needs to be made with these immediately. Quickly, before the snow we had on Halloween becomes the norm. Maybe a quickie, squirrel project for Thanksgiving. Hmmm. Yes. Thanksgiving.
This is the table runner we whipped up for my boss for last Christmas. It had a few batik fabrics in it, but this one would be exclusively made from them. That’s one option.
A second option would be to create a runner similar to the one we made for Dar from the downsizing of her fabrics. This was also a quick make and would look great in these Fall colors.
This is another option that we made for William and Nicole for their bridal shower. It went together quickly but . . . Nah, I don’t think so. I like the first option better. The fabrics look like it will be easy to split them into a light-toned pile or dark-toned pile.
Do you have any suggestions for a different pattern? I am open to suggestions!
