Change of Heart – I’m No Wimp
On the last to-do list, I said we might do the current Project Quilting challenge. Maybe. I rationalized that we didn’t have time to make a whole quilt in a week, no matter the size. Seriously. Kim Lapacek left me a comment that it didn’t need to be a large quilt for the Do Small Things With Great Love challenge. That has been floating around in the back of my mind for the week, and I’ve had a change of heart. We’re making a doll quilt on Saturday and I’ll be linking it up on Sunday. Boom – mike drop.
A Doll Like Me
It’s been a while since we did our last doll quilts for A Doll Like Me but it’s well past time to make more.
Here are the first three we made and sent back in 2018. Since there is a bit of urgency, I think option #3 will be my choice complete with the orange peel FMQ pattern. Stay tuned for an update on this exciting change of heart.
Two Other Note Worthy Mentions
Melva released her third block in the Pieces From the Past sew-along. The newest block is called the Mayflower plus she has shared another letter, this one from 1946. Check it out if you’re playing along, or even if you’re not. It’s a fun piece of history that is special and unique. We haven’t made a sailboat boat since we made this special quilt for sweet little baby Brady . . . six years ago now.
Finally, Kat and the Covered in Love March/April collection is asking for new blocks. They are Rail Fence blocks in true blue, true bright yellow and a low volume/white fabric. Easy peasy to piece and I’ll bet you have a few scraps laying about that fit the bill. We haven’t made any Rail Fence blocks since we made John’s queen-size quilt a summer ago.
We’ll be getting busy this weekend – just imagine the scraps a-flying!
