Cross Stitch Update
Lest you think the only thing we ever work on is quilting, it is time for a cross stitch update. We have for years and years worked exclusively on cross stitch because we owned a cross stitch and framing store.
Football Players – Huddles Figures
A while back I mentioned that my sister-in-law got us started on cross stitching football Huddle figures. We, of course, wanted to stitch the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. We made several from these patterns and then Sue’s brother-in-law requested a full set of all the team mascots. We complied by giving him a couple of completed framed gifts each year for his birthday and Christmas. When he unexpectedly passed, we stopped stitching them but his two sons eventually requested we complete his set and make one additional set since it wasn’t wise to split up the original.
Sue has been working on the Kansas City Chiefs in her spare time for the second set of these football and baseball team mascots. One nephew also enjoys the Chicago Bulls so we designed a pattern and I stitched the famous scowling bull face for him. I believe we have less than a dozen to stitch to complete the second set of football mascots and baseball teams. What will be do with all our free time then?
Here is a small subset of the baseball teams pictures that have been finished and hung up. You might note that we had to change the frame for the baseball team, mainly because the old football frames we selected are no longer available (another reason we suggested not splitting up the original set). We haven’t started framing the second set of cross stitch pictures yet – maybe those will be done with a completely different look – maybe with mats this time. What do you think?
