FMQ on Rainy Day Spirals Update
While this isn’t a finish to share with you today, we did have one earlier this week. If you’d like to see it, our Las Vegas Leaves is finished just in time for Fall enjoyment. It took us about 20 years to complete it! The finish does involve some FMQ. Yippy!
Rainy Days Spirals
Earlier in October, I asked for your opinion on how to quilt our Rainy Days project. To remind you, here is a picture of the Rainy Day flimsy. It is still hanging exactly like that in the sewing room. It’s been several weeks . . .
One Spiral or Two?
The pattern we used is 16-patch framed four-square pattern. We shortened the name to Rainy Day Spiral quilt since the original is a bit long. I created a poll and we asked if you would quilt this in one big spiral like this:

The FMQ Poll Results:
Thank you for sharing your opinion!! The overwhelming results are:
After 32 votes were received, 31 of you suggested several smaller spirals. We did not make this our November OMG project, but I am really feeling these spirals. My hands are itching to get started. We have a few slightly different ideas for this flimsy that are spiral-ish. I want to thank you again so much for voting. Stay tuned for some updates. When the quilting bug hits you on a project, you need to just go with it. Right?!!
Here’s another spiral inspirational piece for you. These pictures are from a table runner, and the block was some peppermint candies. They make me think of my mom. ~smile~
