Got Me Some Ruler Fun Going On
Can you get beyond the bad grammar in that title?! Technically, it may not be going on yet. I did however purchase a ruler foot for my Elna 730 Pro sewing machine. It took me a bit to figure out if I had a low or high shank. Finally I just sent a text to Jim at Sew ‘n Save and he told me! At least I was sure the answer was correct – I have a high shank for those who want to know. ~smile~
Before I actually had the ruler foot in my possession, I purchased this cool free-motion ruler from Quilter’s Trunk in Chicago, Illinois. I thought this looked like a pattern that I would use in the border as well as from edge-to-edge on a quilt. It is a bit bigger version of a wave than what I used on the Finding Nemo machine quilting built-in stitch. Very versatile, don’t you think? Of course, one could easily free hand this but I am a bit of a perfectionist and want the waves to be the same height/distance. ~shrug~
Sew Steady Ruler Foot
I took myself to Amazon, my go-to because they have everything, and ordered this foot from Sew Steady. It came with a 12″ arc template ruler, and a pamphlet featuring all the wonderful quilting I will do. Yup. As soon as I figure out exactly how to do it. I foresee YouTube videos in my near future. I can’t wait to give these a try!
More Rulers You Ask?
Yes, indeed there are some more rulers possibly being purchased in the very near future. Carol is taking us to a BIG SALE in Waterford on the 18th. Before Black Friday and everything, it’s being held at Quilter’s Rule. I checked out the offerings on their website and have made a list (!!) of the rulers I think would be helpful. No need to try to figure it out during the BIG SALE event itself! Nope, we’re going prepared. Now I am looking for ruler storage suggestions, if you have one. I’ll bet I might find some interesting ideas on Pinterest if I took the time. Let me know your thoughts!
