I Love Thursday #112 Abundant Blessings
This is the 112th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Rules for being an adult?! I guess I am mostly an adult, according to this listing a friend posted on Facebook. Some of this is true although I’m definitely not ALWAYS annoyed (just sometimes!) and everything except quilting sometime IS a chore. Seriously, college students do look like they’re only 12-years-old and so do some new doctors.
P.S. I do have a favorite spatula, although I have an issue with that word. My spatula is spoon-like, to get the last of the mayo out of the jar. It’s not a flipper for turning over a grilled cheese sandwich. Both of those devices are called a spatula. I don’t understand why when we could just give one of them a different name – call the flipper a flipper, for example. My friends and I had a two-hour discussion (seriously!) about this issue early one morning. We didn’t solve the dilemma but we did recognize the seriousness of the issue it may become in certain situations. Pass the spatula – hurry! Not that one, the OTHER spatula. See – it could be an issue!
Book tasting menu! Our sixth-grade students created Book Tasting Menus for two of their favorite books. I thought it was such a cute idea. They started with an appetizer or name of the book, followed by the Chef’s name or title of the book. First taste thoughts include their thoughts on the cover art. It’s sweet walking down the hall and seeing all the friendly students in a chef hat!
Reverse Advent calendar! I thought this was a nice idea to share although perhaps just a day or two too late for this Advent season. I’ll bet you could find a homeless shelter near you that would be thrilled to have a donation basket similar to this.
Fun on the walls! Sue had to have a blood test – four vials! – and saw these painted on the wall. I imagine it calmed a few little people and made some bigger ones smile.
Dominic is our big boy and a hat model. Clearly, he is thrilled with his new hat! We got to spend Thanksgiving night with both loves while mom and dad went shopping. Of course, I had to share their Thanksgiving 2019 official photos. Addison’s sweet onesie says Gobble, Gobble. Addison was rockin’ the bellbottom disco 1970 pants and even shared a little love with Auntie Rose. Is there a baby in amongst all those toys?? Finally, Gaga (Grandma Janice) had the funniest video of Dominic laughing. It’s quite entertaining. We love our littles. ♥ ♥ ♥
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
