I Love Thursday #12 – Winding Down
Happy Birthday William! We love you and hope you have a fabulous day. ♥
LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. She is moving midway across the country this week, but I am guessing she will still have a long list of likes! Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis – the list grows a little longer each week.
Love #1
James Patterson, the author. He writes of many different characters that I enjoy like Michael Bennett, NYPD Detective. I just finished his latest book featuring the detective called Haunted. It was the digital version that I got from the library. One thing I like other than the captivating storyline is the short chapters that seems to be Patterson’s trademark. It is easy to sneak in a quick chapter because they are usually only a few pages in length.
Love #2
Snacks. They just show up at work this time of year from different vendors or coworkers. It is pretty cool having food around, but then unfortunately you get used to it. Coming back after the holidays brings us crashing back to reality . . . and no snacks in sight. This week we got a whole selection of popcorns from the Popcorn Factory, chocolate-covered pretzels, and peppermint white chocolate bark. Sounds good doesn’t it?! I can attest that most of it was . . . I didn’t get any of that bark yet, darn it. Someone brought in some homemade puppy chow today – so good!
Love #3
Vacation days. Oh, thank heavens for vacation days. I have off until the new year after today, and I plan on enjoying every minute of it. Ushering out 2017 will include some hanging out with my peeps, sleeping later than 4:30 a.m. and staying upright beyond 9:00 p.m., and doing some sewing. Yippee! I am looking forward to all of it – every moment.
Love #4
Baking Christmas cookies. Wouldn’t you think that I would have all my baking complete after participating in the Virtual Cookie Exchange? Nope, that would be incorrect. I just made cutout cookies last weekend. Real cutouts too, not just the little rolled balls that turn into ornaments if you use your imagination. We have trees, and gingerbread men and everything! We used the recipe we shared during the exchange (it’s really a tasty recipe!), and we also made the fudge. Up next are pecan dreams for Sue’s mom, Jeanette or GG, and some reindeer cookies.
Love #5
Okay, no surprise to anyone is that Dominic has become my last love every week. I would bump him up to #1 but since he has a permanent place here (and in my heart ♥) he has to wait for last. Save the best for last I’ll tell him. This week our boy has discovered some fun things. First he has a deep belly laugh, and second he can get his feet in his mouth along with a finger or two. Oh to be that flexible. Silly boy. Oh, he was wearing a bib we got him before he was born. It turns out that is an understatement! His Aunties REALLY love him!
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Please visit us next week for one last love for 2017.

Roseanne, thank you so much for sharing your favorites. I get the biggest kick out of reading them. 🙂 Enjoy your time off!
Hi Cindy,
Aww, that is so sweet! I’m glad you enjoy them – I enjoy looking for them. ~smile~ Roseanne
Hugs! 🙂
Isn’t Detective Michael Bennett the one with all the kids? Patterson always makes his characters come alive, especially Alex Cross…love him too. I know you never get enough of Dominic. He sure is a cutie. Enjoy your time off work and Merry Christmas (again) can never say it enough.
Hi Peggy! Bennett is the one with all the kiddos! And I love Alex Cross, too! Mr Dominic went out for dinner last night and was the hit of the restaurant. Mr Charming to everyone. I love that boy! ~smile~ Roseanne
I bet he was. He would have been if I was close to him also. I would love to give him some neck kisses. Only aunts and grandmas understand. 🙂
Oops – forgot to say Merry Christmas! {{Hugs}} I can’t say it enough or too much either. ~smile~ Roseanne
It is in our hearts
What is not to love about food, and the grazing….and the expanded waistline. I agree I love Patterson too, but your part about short chapters is especially true. Enjoy your time off the cookie baking, sleeping in and sewing.
Hi Colette,
Ahh, the expanded waistline . . . not going to worry about that until after the holiday. I should worry about it now though. ~smile~ Roseanne
I haven’t read James Patterson but I love to read! I love to eat! I’d eat all the goodies because sugar is so loud I cannot ignore it!
Hi LeeAnna,
There’s plenty of food to eat so you’d be more than welcome to join us! Of course, you’ve already driven past us . . . darn it. ~smile~ Roseanne
Hi Roseanne, before I forget…thanks for visiting my blog too. I appreciate it.
So what a great list of likes and so timely for the season. We are all enjoying the cookie and treat phenomena that occurs with the holidays.
I’m sure you will make the most of your precious time off…little Dominic comes to mind. What a sweetie he is and lucky too to have such adoring aunties.
Hi Jocelyn,
It is a pleasure to visit other blogs – I always learn something new! We will certainly be enjoying Dominic as much as we can. ~smile~ Roseanne
Love your likes but Dominic always steals the limelight~ Him with those tootsies!!! I could just melt 😀 Happy Holidays!
Aww thanks! It is so funny to watch him put his foot, complete with sock, in his mouth and then add a few fingers too. Or sometimes his whole fist! It just makes me giggle. ~smile~ Roseanne
Huzzah for days off and cookies!
Indeed! Both are fabulous. ~smile~ Roseanne
I like James Patterson, too! Especially the Women’s Murder Club Series – I’ve read every one of those. I’ll have to look for the series with the character you mentioned. I enjoy your sharing about Dominic – have a wonderful holiday with him and all of your family!
Hi Diann,
I love the Women’s Murder Club series too! You’ll also have to check out Alex Cross – that is a big series of good books. Oh yeah, Dominic and I will be having lots of fun Christmas Eve and the whole week before the new year. ~smile~ Roseanne
