I Love Thursday #13 – Last for 2017
This is our lucky #13 list of our loves for the week. The last one for 2017. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. She is getting settled in her new home and state this week, but I am guessing she will still have a long list of likes! Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis – a few more join in each week.
Peace and quiet. Our late church service on Christmas Eve started this year at 10:00 pm. We always get there really early, often before the organist starts. It is just so nice and quiet and peaceful. A wonderful time to reflect and pray, and be thankful for all the people in my life and the gifts I have been given. You know I count each of you among those gifts.
Mocha cheesecake. Chris, Dominic’s dad, and Richard love this dessert and it is a favorite of mine as well. I used to make it in a springform pan, which was very messy when we took it out of the pan. A couple of years ago Sue suggested that we make it in a 9×13 pan, and we have been doing that ever since. It is much easier for everyone to serve themselves at our buffet-style meal. Yummy too!
Cute Christmas outfits, either of the family variety or a cute little elf. One of our great-nephews is only eight and he is still more than willing to wear an elf outfit complete with ears and bells. Isn’t he just the cutest elf? Unbeknownst to everyone, his little cousin was also an elf. Here’s my two favorite boyish elf helpers from Christmas Eve:
That’s it for this week! I managed to come down with a cold right before Christmas so I couldn’t even hold that baby, but I did get quite a few hugs from elf #1 and his sisters. Thankfully I was much better for babysitting on Tuesday so I got some snuggle time in. I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Please visit us next week for a fresh start for 2018.
