I Love Thursday #166 Abounding Blessings
This is the 166th post of things we love for the week. The first Thursday post of the New Year. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Plastic collection! A local small town’s Lions Club collected over 10,000# of plastics over the last 20 months. All those plastics are going to be made into 20 park benches by a recycling company named Trex. We do a similar collection in my school district so I love seeing good ideas like this highlighted. Here’s a peek at the plastics and a sample of the benches they will be ordering.
Bestie bests! I captured these two pictures of my bestie, Sue, during the Christmas break. The first one is of her laying on the floor looking in the “blue” fabric drawer (which includes purple and green, it seems). A rather large piece of fabric fell behind the drawer so it would no longer close. There didn’t seem a way to get at that fabric . . . but she figured it out. She made a sneak attack from the side and had it out in minutes! The second picture is her wearing a nifty headband that a coworker of mine made. She very nicely made one for each of us. These will keep our ears warm when we’re out shoveling!
Shelf liner! I think that’s what this product is called, although I’ve never actually used it as such. It is a very useful though – it keeps our I-Pass transponder in one place on the dash rather than floating about. It also keeps my sewing machine pedal mostly in one spot. I saw a new-to-me use on a Facebook quilting group – use it in place of quilting gloves.
Have any of you ever heard of this or tried it? I find it intriguing as it would be nice to not have to constantly remove gloves while quilting.
Colt received a really nifty Christmas gift and he is really enjoying it. It a ball tunnel that he is able to crawl through . . . and at the end, he gets to play with those elusive balls. Daddy has been working with him already and he has a pretty good arm! Dominic loves, loves, LOVES to help clean up especially when it doesn’t involve picking up toys. Give him a Swiffer-type mop and he is all in!
Both Addison and Dominic are tremendous helpers when cleaning out a closet. Can’t you just hear the giggles that were ongoing while the closet was cleaned?! Addison’s collection of babies continues to grow and she has them with her at ALL times. It seems she can handle ten babies easily – we wonder what her future holds?! Both Dominic and Addison enjoyed Blue’s Clues on their bellies on Auntie Sue’s bed. Sue and I were each a bookend, blocking them from falling off the sides with our feet. And finally, don’t they all look angelic watching Olaf’s Adventure quite avidly?!
