I Love Thursday #40 – Happy July
This is our 40th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Flowers! We got a slightly late start on our porch flowers this year. I guess I wasn’t really feeling it back on Memorial Day weekend, so Sue took over. Now that I see all the fruits of her labors, I am reminded just how much I enjoy seeing this. It makes me smile every day as I return home; it looks like someone very much cares that lives here.
LONG weekends! After our return from our cruise to New England and eastern Canada, Sue had to fly to Virginia the very next day. While she was there she visited the William and Mary College for her courses, as well as historic Jamestown. I thought you might enjoy a photo of the second oldest college as well as seeing the first landing spot in 1607.
Wednesday night her flight was due to get in at 11:30pm, so I offered to pick her up at the airport. Since it was going to be so late (and it was very delayed so we didn’t get home until 2am!), I took off the following Thursday. It is so very nice having a four day weekend! Work three days, take off four, work two days, take off five – yes, I could get used to that!
Emergency service calls. I’m not thrilled for the need for emergency service calls for our A/C when the temperatures are well above 95, but I sure do appreciate and love that they are available. It seems we have been on a rash of appliance bad luck lately. When we returned from our cruise the washing machine decided to stop spinning – with a full load of clothes in it naturally. I tricked it into spinning three items at a time which took the better part of a day. But at least it did spin them! We have a new washing machine now, and the A/C is fixed thankfully because we had to get a new furnace. Phew!
Lest you worry that Dominic may not be spoiled at all, this week I share a picture of him in his new wagon. GG Tom (he has a great-grandpa and a grandpa Tom!) decided he needed a wagon. Once it was put together (!!) he took him for a little spin. And our blogger friend, Wendy, reminded me that Uncle John needs extra rewards for putting Dominic’s stroller together. This second shot is D helping momma make cookies for Uncle John!
I am sure Uncle John will enjoy those cookies very much, especially with all the love that went into making them.
That’s it for this week! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday!
