I Love Thursday #44
This is our 44th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Lori at Quilting Needs. Lori was having a hard start to the month of July, and I’ll bet she’s very happy it is now August. She made a very cute sunflower block and accidentally reversed the direction of the petals. If it were me, I’d probably say oh well. Quite honestly I probably would NEVER have noticed. But it was just one more thing wrong, and it almost broke the camel’s back. Not that I’m saying Lori is a camel!! Anyhoo, I raised my hand, sent her an email and asked her to send me that darn block. I would fix it, and no one would be the wiser. Of course, Lori didn’t do that. No! Instead, she sends me this charm pack called “Rowan” from The Kaffe Fassett Collective. Totally not necessary . . . and I still would like to get my hands on that sunflower block, Lori! Isn’t that a snazzy envelope?!?!!
Carol at Just Let Me Quilt . Carol hosted the recent Christmas blog hop that ran during the last week of July. Yesterday, Carol sent me a sweet email informing me that I was the winner of TWO Riley Blake Christmas Delivery charm packs. How cool is that?!?! Hmm, what should we make from them? Aren’t they cute?! Thank you so much, Carol!
Meatloaf. If my mom was still alive, she would laugh right out loud at the notion that I love meatloaf. It is a giggle for me as well, as I still may wrinkle my nose up at the thought. We have stumbled upon a recipe that I can tolerate and willingly eat. It is SO easy – just four ingredients – and we make individual loaves in a muffin tin. The recipe is 2# hamburger, 2 eggs, 1 cup water, and 1 box of stuffing, which makes 12 generous muffins of meatloaf. The recipe is easily divisible to make a smaller portion of only six and it is delicious. I squished all the ingredients together, rolled them into rather large meatballs (on the left) and this is how they look after an hour at 350º. I even like them cold as a sandwiches!
Fresh produce! In the backyard, no less. I don’t recall getting green peppers quite this early before but maybe my memory is slipping. I’ve been eagerly watching our tomato plant but they’re not even a light coral color yet. Umm, these peppers just make my mouth water though and the smell. Y.u.m.
Mission Impossible: Fallout! I love this series of movies – I like the old TV series and the movies have continued on in that same vein. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie – lots of action and not too much of them being dragged out too long. It even had a satisfying ending, making you want to see the next one! I love going to the movies but we rarely find anything worthy of seeing lately. This is two for two this summer (Ocean’s 8 was the first).
Dominic went out to lunch with Dr. Auntie Sue and his mom the other day. What was on the menu for him? A few Os, some crustless bread, and spreading his winning smile to everyone sitting around them. ~smile~ Mr. Busy also thinks he should stand up now when he’s in his pool. Him and his mom are having a war of wills . . . and my money’s on Mom! Lastly is my newest FAVORITE picture, of Dominic reading the paper like Dad. Be still my heart. ♥
That’s it for this week! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday!
