I Love Thursday #47 – Back to School
This is our 47th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Back to School Time! I love it when it’s nearing the start of the school year. Our staff members are starting to check in and the best part is when the students return on the 29th. It is just too quiet for me during the summer months although I have plenty to get done with reporting to the state.
Mocha Cheesecake!! We invited everyone to our home for the baby reveal, and we had to make a special dessert. Dominic, his dad and I are huge fans of this mocha cheesecake dessert (granted Dominic only had a few small tastes). Even Sue likes it and she isn’t a coffee fan!
Corsage! We were surprised, honored and blessed to receive wrist corsages to wear at William and Nicole’s wedding. We love that young man so much and welcome his new bride into the family. It was such a beautiful wedding and reception. Here is a shot of the corsages and the ‘exchange of rings’ at the rehearsal. I didn’t get photos at the actual wedding – it was way too hard and busy!
It’s A Girl!! We had the baby reveal at our house the day after the wedding – the newlyweds were on their way to the Bahamas. Our baby was supposed to hit the baby carriage with a bat (!!) to break open the colored candy inside. Because he didn’t quite get it – thankfully – dad stepped in and helped him out. Here is the cute sign the doctor sent with the announcement, and the new families hands all showing pink. There may have been some online shopping done already . . . Maybe.
Dominic had quite a busy week! First he went to the waterpark with the bigger kids and enjoyed every bit of it. Consequently, this is what an eleven-month-old looks like after a few hours at the waterpark. He was too tired to even pick up his veggie stick or his water, and look how white his hair is now! The next morning, mom had to wake him up when it was time to go. He made a beeline for his inflated house and peeked out the window. Oh happy day!
Then, our little guy tried some ranch dressing at the wedding. The face he made! It seems like he did like it though as he came back for more very quickly. Actually, he opens his mouth and looks at me! ~smile~ This week’s last shot is a tired baby after all the fun of the wedding, too tired to finish his bottle. Did I mention we love this baby?!!
That’s it for this week! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday!
