I Love Thursday #64 – December 20th
This is our 64th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Cauliflower pizza crust! Sue and I have been trying to minimize our carb consumption a bit. We’re not doing low-carb per se but rather a modified lower carb. I still have oatmeal during the week for breakfast! Anyway, we made a delicious cauliflower pizza crust for dinner and topped it with pizza sauce, cheeses, turkey sausage, green pepper and on Sue’s side anchovies, and onions. Delicious and the cauliflower is already shredded (or riced) by Birdseye or Green Giant. So much easier than hauling out the food processor. On the right is the crust before the first bake, and then on the right with toppings before the final bake. Yum!
Love #2
Mug rugs! I opened a package that arrived earlier this week, and found these delightful mug rugs inside. Karla made these for Sue and I just because she wanted to. Isn’t that just the sweetest?!
This picture doesn’t do the fabric or the beautiful stitching any justice. The light background fabric has a beautiful sparkle to it. I will only put clean items on this mug rug! Hmm, maybe it will sit next to my sewing machine where I can enjoy it every time I’m sewing.
Love #3
Dual collar sweatshirt. My mom used to love to wear sweatshirts that had two collars, and I happily bought them for her. Now I have one of my own. I am always a coldy cat, so this felt nice and warm on a chilly day. Of course, the cardinal also made me think of her. The little snowflakes on the sides are also quite sparkly.
Love #4
Dominic, our little sweetheart, was quite busy for the cookie bake. I thought he was going to be a big helper, but instead he was quite interested in watching Sesame Street. Who can compete with Count Dracula and the number eight?!! Just two pictures to share this week. The first shows Dominic sitting in his great-grandpa’s rocking chair. It is a little high for him to crawl into himself but he does enjoy rocking himself. That’s clap worthy right?!! The second photo, on the right, shows a good case of bed head. Mom and Dad wonder how that is possible when Mr. Charmer doesn’t sleep?!!
Dominic, Sue and I wish each of you a Merry Christmas if you celebrate. We hope to be enjoying Baby Girl sometime soon. ♥ ♥

What a great Thursday post! You have such a good friend to send those beautiful mug rugs, and that sweatshirt makes me want to rush out and look for one, too. Of course, Dominic is the star. Here’s hoping we’ll be seeing those baby girl pictures before too long. Not much time left, and I’ll bet mom is SO happy about that! Have a wonderful weekend!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’ve tried the premade cauliflower crust and liked it too. Those mug rugs are gorgeous!
Merry Christmas to you and Sue! Nothing better than having a little one for the holidays!!! Have a safe and happy holiday!
You’ve convinced me to give it a try. 🙂 Your friend’s lettering is awesome. I like the soft green and burgandy colors. Your sweatshirt story and the sweatshirt it self reminded me of my mom. Thanks. Merry Christmas!
Dominic just keeps getting cuter and cuter! Love your mug rugs and that sweatshirt!
I have heard cauliflower crust is good….The mug rugs are very nice.
Those mug rugs are beautiful! What a great gift. That sweatshirt is so pretty , too. Merry Christmas!
Your pizza looks delicious & healthy!!! Hopefully it tasted as good as it looked!
And Karla did an excellent job with your mug rugs! Wonderful! (She’s a talented lady, isn’t she?)
Happy Quilting & Merry Christmas! 🙂
What’s a little bed head among family? Black mail for when he’s a teen?
Hi I have made cauliflower pizza a number of times but did not know about the frozen riced stuff…yes, that would make the job much easier! I too still have my oatmeal even tho trying to be mindful of carbs. Lovely mug rugs…love anything monogrammed or named. And how wonderful Christmas morning will be with that little guy! And how wonderful for you two to share in it all.
Oh, those mug rugs are gorgeous! I love your cardinal sweatshirt, too! Fun and festive. Glad you enjoyed the cauliflower crust pizza. We eat low carb as much as possible, but sometimes it’s hard to find recipes that actually sound good!
My mother does love her embroidered dual-coller sweatshirts too! We spent an hour in Kohl’s last weekend shopping for them. 🙂 Have a furn pre-Christmas weekend!
Oh, those mug rugs are gorgeous! And made the sweeter for the love sent with them. I like a dual collar shirt too. Layers but not bulk. How does the crust hold together? Great idea, and I’ll be right over for a slice
You will be looking all festive in your new sweatshirt and those mug rugs are awesome!! Have a great Holiday my friends.
Santa came a bit early for you two — enjoy those pretty mug rugs! Things are getting busier than I planned here, so off to do some running around today. Hope you are having sunshine there — either Dominic sunshine or the other kind — it is overcast here. BUT my kids are coming home today — woohoo!
Aww…mister sweetheart Dominic; as always he brings a smile to my face! Thanks for sharing the mug rugs, I’m so happy you and Sue are enjoying them!
There’s my Dominic fix for the week! And a very Merry Christmas to all of you there, with a big hug for the little guy! Love the mug rugs…what a nice gift!
