I Love Thursday #68
This is our 68th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.

More quilty friends. I could and should have included this in last week’s loves but got distracted by our new little bundle of sweetness. Last November we finished our Fireburst quilt that was a quilt along with Tish at The Madd Quilter. If you haven’t seen her quilt parade that started on January 1st, it is worth checking out. Loads of quilt goodness all from the same pattern. Tish informed me that we were a winner of two of her patterns, Laurel Burst and Star Blossom. She sent along the digital versions with the email announcement. How fabulous is that?! Our list of to-be-made quilts is getting rather lengthy considering it is only January 17th. You can find these patterns on her website under the Patterns tab! Aren’t they cute? I adore stars . . .

Lighting up. Remember Wendy from Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life who sent this sweet and thoughtful package to us at the beginning of this month? I was so thrilled to see and try out this light.
That bendable BRIGHT light is pretty darn cool. And here it is in its new home, cord neatly tucked away. I gave Wendy a giggle, suggesting the picture that could have been taken of me crawling around under my sewing table to plug this in. In actuality, Sue crawled around under my table for me. I refrained from taking a picture. Thank you for your assistance, Susan. I know you thank me for NOT taking that picture. HAHA! Now I need a good dark-fabric project to work on. Hmm, maybe I need to buy some new fabric for that?!! Or maybe Mary’s beauty will suffice . . .

Free shipping! This may be old news to you, but my friend Mary just told me about Hawthorne Supply Co. You can order yardage as small as half a yard, and they offer FREE shipping. I can’t tell you how many times I think about ordering some fabric but the additional expense of shipping just pushes it over the line of being too much. I try not to buy things from Amazon Prime, but they sure make it way too easy to do so. Since not everyone may be aware of this husband and wife owned company, I thought I’d share the info. It looks like they have a fabulous selection of fabrics, etc. AND a fun to read About Us page. The free shipping is a very welcome bonus for me to throw business their way. When the no-fabric-buying ban is lifted, of course. Thankfully it doesn’t cost a thing to look!

Blocks! We bought Dominic some blocks for Christmas because that should just be a staple for small kiddos, don’t you think? Once Addison was born – literally the very night she was born – her grandma and I got a little creative. Of course, Dominic wanted to play with them at the same time and was a block HOG. We looked and looked and LOOKED for the second D for Addison. It seems a young man was sitting on it. Hmph. Here are the results of our playing though! It is called perseverance.
Two adults with too much time on their hands . . . ~smile~
Love #5
This part of the weekly post is my just favorite. All week long I collect sweet pictures – sometimes there are just too many to share! Dominic and Addison are settling in to a routine, and their parents are along for the ride. Miss Addi gave us a scare for the first few days at home with her bilirubin levels. Oh yes, I definitely have some new gray/white hair strands that are just hers. But once the scare was over, forget about it and praise the Lord with thankfulness.
Mr. Big Boy was just plain showing off, walking in the Mall with mom and dad. Sometimes you just need a break from your new sister, I guess. Then Elmo loves hugs and Dominic loves to give them. A celebration was necessary when Dominic was reunited with his missing orange ring. It was found underneath Addi’s crib! I told them Addi had it, and he’d better get used to it. Speaking of Addison, she had to bundle up for another blood poke at the clinic. Isn’t that the cutest hat? It’s a newborn size that probably won’t fit her next week! Finally, she got to enjoy her special orange quilt hand quilted with love. Auntie Sue and Auntie Rose are babysitting tonight?! No, we don’t want to take a nap Momma. And last of all, a sweet girl gets a bottle and some kind words from someone who loves her a lot.
Happy Happy Thursday! See you next week with more loves. Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun or in the sidebar of our website – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there. We love to see them. ~smile~
Congratulations on your win! Those are great quilts! I’d say you were two adults with a lot of happiness to express, and still a little child in each of you. =) A double treat to get Dominic and Addison in the same slide show. That is a cute hat, but Dominic is as cute as ever! Imagine them in a few years, and he’s looking out for her – lots of sweet slides to come!
Love seeing the pictures of Miss Addi! Thanks for the machine light idea. More light is always useful! I have ordered from Hawthorne Supply Co. They even print their own fabric!
Had to stop to get my Dominick and Addison fix. She is so dang cute, the little froggy legs. Great patterns I love the big block type quilts they are so fun. Hawthorne Supply one of my favorite fabric shops online. They are so great about quick shipping too.
I laughed imagining ya’ll playing with the blocks. We are all still creative.Hawthorne is great! Enjoy those cuties. mary
Love the quality fabric, free shipping and great customer service from Hawthorn Supply Company!! They are great to buy from!
Oh my lord it’s cuteness overload! How can one family be so lucky!! I know, I read the patterns, the quilting tips, but then I get to the slide show and I’m a goner…sigh…
I just adore seeing TWO babies on your picture show! And what a sweet picture of you holding little Addi. Melts my heart. God is good, yes?
Those quilts are pretty – I do love how Fireburst looks. Blocks and lights and kids! All good stuff. 🙂
Such sweet little ones! I love it when you share your pictures. Congratulations on the win. Those are two of my favourite patterns by Tish. Enjoy the light. I had one and somehow cut the cord when doing some chain piecing. I guess the sticky tape loosened up. I do miss it, but recently won an Ottlite. I’m playing with placement on my table to get the just right light. Happy Thursday. 🙂 Carol
Hello Roseanne, I am thrilled for you that you won two new patterns and they both look like a lot of fun to create! So Congratulations and have a blast making both of them! Tell me your thoughts on the light, I have been considering getting one and would love to know what you think of yours and how it helps and so forth. It is always so wonderful the way we meet friends online and before long gifts are exchanging along with information and it all becomes such a great part of our day! I know I will be checking out the Fabric store so thank you for the link. All of the photos of the little ones are adorable and bring smiles. Thank you for sharing these precious parts of your lives also. Have a fabulous day!
so cute!!! Love the orange/white quilt under Addie. Oh — and Dominic all curled up next to her — so, so sweet!
Oh how I loved block letters as a child! I’d like that light for sure, mine seems to come and go, and when on it’s too feeble. Gotta check out Hawthorn for sure now, thanks!! LeeAnna
Looks like Miss Addi is growing already! I loved the picture of the two of them on the floor, and Dominic has his legs all scrunched up underneath. “I used to be that little, didn’t I?” 🙂 I’ll have to check out Hawthorne Supply Co. I, too, don’t order much online if there is lots of postage to be paid!
Looks like it’s been a great week!! And even better since it’s double baby love all the time now!
Lovely happy post, Roseanne. So many great things and the greatest of course, a new little being to love and cherish.
Aww…Dominic and Addison are so cute! Thanks for the reminder of Hawthorne, I haven’t purchased from them in a while. Congrats on winning the pattern from Tish…I especially love the one on the left!
Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
Aw, those kids! So cute. Love the one where he’s looking at his sister with that grumpy face. Glad things are okay with her. So scary when things come up and their tiny like that. Blocks are so fun, hope you gave Dominic a turn 😉 And yes, hooray for free shipping! Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend ahead!
I agree that the pics of the kiddos are absolutely adorable. And more light for sewing is always a win. I can also relate to my list of 2019 quilts growing. I just decided a couple days ago that I am going to participate in Then Came June’s Meadowland Quilt-Along and will use my hoarded stash of Alison Glass fabrics. Have a great day, Mary.
I have to check out this Hawthorne supply place. You know for when I need more fabric!
So glad the light is working for you! I love Hawthorne Supply Co. Their service is great and they have a nice variety of fabrics. I love those two patterns from Tish. I’ve made the one on the left, just need to get it quilted. Looking at the picture in your post, I think I just came up with an idea for the quilting. Yay! Of course, the kiddo pics are adorable.
