I love Thursday #9 – Post Thanksgiving
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now it is on to December and the next couple of holidays. It isn’t difficult to come up with things that I love for the week. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. Several of our friends also share, and it is rather addictive looking for all the positives once you get started. You are welcome to join us anytime!

Popcorn! Someone shared the idea of having flavored popcorn at a group function they were hosting at their home. I never think of offering popcorn to guests. Why not? This year I think it is going to be added to our Christmas Eve feast. It is gluten-free, easily eaten by all and there are loads of flavors. My pick I believe will be cheese and caramel corn. We live near Chicago and Garrett’s (world famous and delicious), but I may just pick it up at Sam’s if I don’t get into the city. Thank you for the idea!

Longgggggggg weekends! It was SO nice to have four days off work, and even a bit more because we were sent home early last Wednesday. Holy moly, I got a lot of sewing done. I am 100% sure I did meet my November OMG (one monthly goal) this month, unlike my October failure. That makes me extremely happy!

Blog hops – I enjoy them very much. It is always fun to read new blogs and see what others are working on, especially if there is a theme I am interested in. Well, we are going to be participating in our very FIRST blog hop December 5th – 7th! That is next week already – can you believe it?! It is a fun theme – a virtual cookie exchange. Some of the recipes that have been shared already as sneak peaks are just mouthwatering or maybe I am just looking forward to making all of them. We will be also having a giveaway – nothing huge but just a show of appreciation.

The ‘kids’ are getting older. It is wonderful now that the nephews and niece(s) are growing up and they are so much more helpful! The can now cook (!!) and bring side dishes that are delicious (Anj and Nicole spring to mind). They can and do offer muscle help when asked (thank you John, William, Chris and Richard). They bring up events we can share as an extended family like the wine tasting that didn’t quite happen because someone got pregnant. ~smile~ Or a police department basketball game for charity – yes, thank you, we’re in.

Black Friday shopping! No, I didn’t head out into the crowds. I did it right from my little ‘ole laptop. I bought some thread and a quilt kit from Craftsy, a new rocking chair for myself (and a certain little boy), and some other fun things I share when they arrive. How about you – did you head into the crowds or lay low?
Love #6
I couldn’t go a week without showing the love for our sweet little baby. This is what we saw around 9:00pm Thanksgiving night. Someone had a nice long nap and was ready to chat and sing until midnight. That was handy for mom and dad to sleep in the next morning.
That’s it for this week! Today is the last day of November. I hope it was as happy a month for you as it was for me.
Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there! We love to see them. ~smile~
We are big fans of popcorn. My hubby makes a huge bowl of the most amazing popcorn with coconut oil. Then he mixes in some GH Cretors Chicago Cheese and Carmel Corn….mmmmmmm so delicious!!! 🙂
Hi Cindy! OMG – that sounds delicious. I was wondering how your shopping trip went? I hope you had fun meeting your friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
I didn’t buy a thing! 🙂 But I had a great time visiting with my friend and helping her choose fabrics. I also had a wonderful lunch at Fork in the Road. Thanks for asking! 🙂
I love the I like Thursdays. Just giggled I just had a bowl of popcorn for a snack. I will confess I just ordered 2 more bags of the boys scout sea salt caramel corn…..sinfully delish. No black Friday out and about for me, but I did get all of my shopping done, and everything has been delivered. I bought a kit from Craftsy too…like I need another kit or another project or more fabric. LOL
Hi Colette,
Yum – that boy scout stuff sounds delicious! I love sea salt/caramel anything – it’s a great combination. I hear you about the kit! I don’t recall ever buying a kit before, actually. I usually just go for the pattern and pick my own fabrics. It still hasn’t arrived yet, and to tell the truth I can’t recall what it looks like! HAHA ~smile~ Roseanne
I did my Small Business Saturday shopping on Black Friday, lol! We were on the road that day, but I have a couple of favorite quilt shops that I always have to visit near where my kids live, and that was the day to do it., i love blog hops, too, and will look forward to yours next weekend!
Hi Diann,
Quilt shops really qualify for as a small business, and one of the best ones to support! We can’t have them close – it’s too hard to buy fabric via the internet in most cases (although I do enough of that with MSQC’s daily specials). ~smile~ Roseanne
Long weekends are fun – but they still go by too quickly! Popcorn! Trader Joe’s stopped carrying their small bags of microwave popcorn – I hope they bring it back soon.
Hello,
Boy do you speak the truth – long weekends go by WAY too quickly! I have not tried TJ’s bags of popcorn. Maybe that’s a good thing since they stopped carrying them. ~smile~ Roseanne
Wonderful list as always! Chicago popcorn, the next generation stepping up, a virtual cookie blog hop(good luck!), Black Friday shopping from our pet chairs, and that sweet little face!
Thanks Jocelyn! I should have come up with more – I have plenty to be thankful for. ~smile~ Roseanne
Love your likes! That baby is so cute, what a wonderful blessing! Hugs and have a great week!
Good Morning!
He truly is a huge blessing and one that I thank God for every single day. He is going to keep me young, that’s for sure. Thanks for your sweet comments, and I wish you a blessed week as well. ~smile~ Roseanne
I wish we could know what a baby was thinking as they look up at us smiling at them. I love Black Friday shopping, in the stores with the crowds. I know, I might be the only one but I love the energy it gives me and the decorations and the excitement of the hunt. Not for us this year since we can’t move more stuff. Thanks for the cool list as always! And the happy way you write. Lee Anna
Hi Lee Anna,
I used to do a lot of BF shopping. I agree about the high energy, and just the overall feeling of excitement in the air. Holiday songs on the radio – it is a fun day and time. I had a better offer – watching Dominic. I sure do wish I knew what he was thinking . . . or maybe I’m glad I don’t know. He might think I’m nuts, talking to him hoping he will fall asleep. ~smile~ Roseanne
Little Man’s personality is shining in this picture. I can’t wait for the ‘terrible twos’ and seeing all the action shots. 🙂
Hi again,
I know, right?! And all the Nos that come with that age . . . I’m not good at saying No unless he might get hurt. ~smile~ Roseanne
We don’t have to say ‘no’. That is momma’s job. We just say ‘yes’ and hand out cookies. 🙂
True dat!! 🙂
