I Love Thursdays – Post #2
Lee Anna at Not Afraid of Color posts a celebration all of her ‘likes’ for the week on Thursday on her blog. I think this is a great idea and thought I would join in and share what I love. Maybe you’d like to join us, and link up with Lee Anna? Or check on some of the likes of her and her friends – they will make you ~smile~.
I had off on Monday for Columbus Day and I had a fun-filled day with great-nephew Dominic, as I watched him from 8:00 to 4:00 while his mom went to work. No sewing was accomplished not that I expected to do any. ~smile~ I am SO lucky to get to spend time with this little guy. Here he is on his new Play Ball quilt in his monkey jams:
I love the pumpkin flavor, but am not into the pumpkin coffee craze. I made some cupcakes that are SO darn easy. One box of spice cake mix, an egg and one can of pumpkin – mix them together, plop into a cupcake tin and bake. Top with cream cheese frosting – YUM! I would share a picture but you would just drool. <wink>
I love my new sewing machine (Ellie) and sewing table. They are new this year from my LQS Sew ‘n Save in Racine. My sewing machine is recessed and it makes sewing SO much easier, especially since I want to get more into free-motion and ruler quilting. It was a very good investment. I also just added this laser light for sewing from corner to corner easily – love it!
I love my job. My blessings include wonderful coworkers and a fabulous boss plus work that I enjoy. I have a drive of about an hour each way, and I have come to mostly appreciate the drive as well. In the morning, it is always dark except for a few weeks around the summer solstice. I use some of that time for reflection and prayer. On the way home, it is fun to enjoy the sun, music and just celebrate being alive. Of course, some days traffic doesn’t make it all that fun – but those are rare.
