Light Green Baby Quilt Finished
Last weekend I finished machine quilting my second quilt, a light green and white polka dot with solid white-on-white. We chose a nine-patch design with alternating solid white-on-white blocks. I had fun sewing this one together, and even more fun machine quilting it. This has been our go-to pattern for years. We had made more of these than I can count, and given most of them away to babies and peeps we love. ~smile~
I followed the nine-patch squares and sewed about a 1/4 inch from the ditch across the quilt in both directions. I used a pale yellow cotton thread by Gutermann which looks nice on the backing fabric, and gives the front a little different color. I think both the light green and pale yellow are both not identified with a specific gender, yet they can be for a baby, child or adult.
On the back, we chose a pale yellow, grey and white polka dotted print with a friendly looking yellow and grey giraffe. He just makes me smile when I look at him. This hasn’t been washed yet, so you know it will pucker up a bit more and feel more quilty (a technical term!) once it washed and dried. I love just running my hand over these quilts.
So, another offering for our Etsy store (click here to see what’s available now). I never know how anything will see, or if anyone will be interested in our quilts. I’m just happy to have an outlet for them, since we had quite a pile going for a while there!
