Mary Went Way Overboard
Remember I did some fun quilting for our friend, Mary, earlier this month. She was so nice to trust me with her gorgeous quilt top and allowed me to practice my FMQ skills. I had a blast, and she has a finished top. I wrote all about it in this Quilting On A Friend Going Home post. Mary shared a post about the quilt she named Random Intentions showing it hanging in her home, and I thrilled to see it!
Mary is Not Contrary
She sent the nicest thank you note along with some goodies (that were totally unnecessary). It was a big ole package that was delayed from being delivered because of our cold weather. No mail delivery for two days! Unheard of in these parts, at least in all my born days. The package came in with the littles – sweet boy marching around and baby girl wanting to be held. I don’t know why I forgot it arrived?!
The first item I saw is this wonderful panel with some matching fat quarter pieces. They are all so pretty – I can’t wait to put this together into a fun quilt top. Next, I opened a baggie with many different 4″ squares. Just PERFECT for another I Spy quilt. Ooh, Addi with your name on it, I think. See that pretty golden yellow fabric with the elephant, giraffe, and kangaroo on it? That is some yardage Mary included . . .
Mary Doesn’t Like Appliqué
This cool eyeglass cases kit by Hoffman was also included in the package from Mary. Why you might ask? Well, it turns out that Mary doesn’t really enjoy appliqué projects. Of any sort . . . even cute and clever ones like this kit. It even includes the metal tape measure pieces to make the top snap shut. AND all the appliqué pieces already cut out, ready to go. Thank you Mary Ringer! You went way overboard in sending the goodies – WAY o.v.e.r.b.o.a.r.d.
