Missouri Star Quilt Company, Hamilton, MO
Have you heard of them? Have you seen their wonderful tutorials that they release on a weekly basis for new patterns? They have a newsletter and daily specials that you can sign up for via email, and videos you may subscribe to as new ones are posted on YouTube. We are not affiliated with MSQC in any way but here is their website link. There are many, many other online fabric websites and I hope to discuss a few more of them in the future.
I receive an email every morning with a new tempting goodie (trying to resist) like jelly rolls, charm packs and even fat quarters. When you click the link, you’ll find more details about the offered item and often times a story that a reader/customer has submitted about how they were inspired to quilt. I love reading those stories! There are also a few additional daily and weekly specials to tempt you as well as other fabrics from the offered line as a coordinating fabric. I often select a border/binding fabric from one of the coordinating fabrics in the line that is included in the charm pack so we are sure it will match – one of the downsides of not buying fabrics in person.
We are planning a road trip to MSQC sometime soon. It is about an eight hour drive to reach them in Hamilton, Missouri. The will probably be four of us going, and we may (need to) stop at a few quilt shops on the way. Our plan is to head out early on a Friday morning, stop a few times, maybe even take time for a very short lunch break – we can eat and drive right?! – to reach Hamilton before the stores close at 5:00 p.m. We will hit the stores when they open on Saturday and probably head back home on Sunday. Perfect for a quick road trip on a long weekend. ~smile~
Handily enough, the quilt store in Missouri got together, organized a Quilt Trail on Hwy 36, recently announced their 2017 theme starting April 1st with a ‘passport’ type book to get stamped – all in time for a road trip. It’s like they are rolling out the red carpet. How nice! Here is a link for more details if you are interested in trying out the quilt trail yourself: http://www.americangeniushighway.com/2017/01/quilting-your-way-across-missouri-highway-36/
More details will follow after our trip and we’ll share some of our treasures! Have you ever been to any of their stores in Hamilton?
