New Home For eXellence 730Pro
I bought a new sewing machine from Sew and Save of Racine. An Elna eXellence 730Pro sewing machine. It was rather unexpected, although I’ve been mulling it over for a while. One whole day spent trying to sew a simple “X” on a layered quilt pushed me over the edge I guess. The next day I said to Sue let’s go buy a new sewing machine. So we did!
Isn’t she pretty? Look at that nice big, HUGE throat! OMG. I am swooning. I might as well confess. We also brought a new sewing table for it. One that has a recessed area for her to fit in. The the acrylic top to make it one smooth sewing surface. I can hardly stand it. Oh, and one more table for Lily, my second sewing machine. As long as we are taking the sewing room to where it should be, we might as well go for it. I have used a door on two filing cabinets since I started sewing. Sue uses a folding table for all her work, and is not interested in updating at this time. I’ll keep nagging. ~smile~
Back to the Elna (she remains unnamed at this point but maybe Ellie). She has all kinds of features that are really cool. Honestly, I couldn’t get past the 11″ throat. It has an 11″ throat!! It has storage, bigger bobbins, many stitches, lots of other cool stuff and an eleven inch throat. Holy moly! I had better get going on something to quilt on it.
The tables take 8 – 10 weeks to arrive. Hopefully sooner, but that is a long time. Oh well, plenty of time to get the file cabinets cleaned out. And moved out of the way so it can be vacuumed well. And the dressers moved around. We will need the help of our trusty little sliders to move the furniture around. So stay tuned . . . I am sure there will be an update and maybe a picture or two of the new and improved sewing room. ~smile~
