One Third Complete – Merry Quilt Along
The I Wish You a Merry Quilt Along we are participating in is now one third complete. We have finished blocks one through four! I love, love, LOVE the fabrics we are using for the QAL. This is also one of my favorite holidays, so it is a pleasure to be joining in this quilt along.
Merry Block 1 and 2
Block number one is called Snowflake and block two is called Tree Farm. You can find the details that were shared earlier on each of these blocks by clicking on the links. The first block challenged us with appliqué and the second suggested paper piecing. We (make that I) chose to use rulers instead.
Merry Block 3 and 4
This was the first week of school for both Sue and I. Thankfully, these two blocks were released just days before the Labor Day holiday. That gave us an extra day to make these, along with our other mystery quilt block for Grandma’s Kitchen.
Block number three is a pieced block called Santa’s Belt and number four is another appliqué block called Christmas Memories. I am especially fond of the fabric we chose for Santa’s Belt. I love the little thin stripes that wiggle and wobble. We had only the round striped ornament on our tree while I was growing up, but the feeling is certainly there.
Here is our design wall with all four blocks on it. I am hoping for more pieced blocks in the remaining eight, but we will have to wait and see as they are released. It’s not too late to join in! The next block will be released on September 13th.
