Our October 2018 OMG Goal
We are joining Patty at Elm Street Quilts again this month for her October OMG linky party. This is our twelfth link up. Almost one whole year of successfully completing this monthly goal. We had a hard time picking our October goal, mostly because I did something stupid. I ordered the backing fabric for three looming projects from MSQC and they aren’t real quick about shipping yardage. Why did I think that was a good idea? Thankfully, I received an email saying our shipment has been sent. There IS hope.
It seems appropriate to pick this project we’ve named Las Vegas Leaves. Another UFO project, this one has been awaiting for YEARS to see the light of day again. We saw the project at a quilt shop near UNLV during one visit in the early 2000s (I think).
Ultimately, our October goal is to get this quilt completely finished. A few borders need to be added, and then it can be layered and quilted. Of course, we have to wait for the backing fabric to come. Here is the tan leaf-themed backing I picked out for this gem.
A nice tan thread will be a good choice for quilting in both the upper and lower threads. My friend, Vicki from Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting blog recently told me about a quilting pattern to try. Called Sharp Stippling by Leah Day, Vicki used it on her beautiful new table runner named Starstruck. I may expand my stippling repertoire a bit by giving this a try. All the glorious details will be shared in our wrap up post in less than a month! Wish me luck!
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
