Patterns and Models at IQF
For our third article on the International Quilt Festival that we attended last Saturday in Rosemont, IL, I would like discuss the models we saw and some of the patterns we purchased.
We went in unaware that the vendors would offer anything for sale. There were rows and rows of vendors offering everything imaginable for sewing and quilting. We made our way to the very back of the show arena, which turned out to be a wise idea because we had the luxury of uncrowded booths. Our first purchase was made in the Rocking Chair Quilts booth, manned by owners Lisa Wolfe and Debbie Frazier. Both ladies were very welcoming, and we chatted for a bit about the show and how this was the “first” for both of us for that day. Our first purchase, their first sale; our first visit to the show, their visit to to this show. ~smile~
They offered patterns by Amy Bradley Designs, pictured above in the My Alphabet Quilt and the Campers pattern. We are able to see the completed quilt for each pattern, and felt inspired to purchase and eventually make them. Another cute version for the Camper quilt is a tent version, along with different family members to include shown below:
Aren’t they just so cute! The details are just fun.
One other surprise was to see the models of Calendar Runners by Kimberly Schaefer complete and hanging. All except the September runner that we just recently finished!
You can see the March birds, April showers, May flowers, June picnic, August beehives, October pumpkins and November turkeys pictured above. If was fun to see them finished and how colorful they all are! Here is a link to our finished September apple table runner article.
We will definitely go to a quilt show again. We will be more prepared by bringing along a bag to carry purchases in, and maybe a small notebook to take notes in – especially if I am shopping for a sewing/quilting machine again. ~smile~
