Pink or White Turnstile Block Quilt Tutorial
Melissa from the Polkadot Chair website recently shared the cutest baby quilt tutorial. I thought you might enjoy it as well. She features the quilt for a baby girl in not just one color but two! You can find the link by following this link to the tutorial.
Let me share some of the fun Melissa put into her two quilts. She made them for twin girls, and used a mirror image to make each one unique:
I just love her choices in fabric, which is her Wonderland Two line of fabrics. Look how cute those pinwheels are – especially in polkadots! Even the binding is special and adorable. Here is a closeup of the turnstile block itself:
Melissa takes you through the process in her tutorial, step-by-step. It is an easy process, and great for beginners. It measures 45″ x 45″ when finished. The supply list is fairly easy too:
Pink or White Turnstile Block Quilt
9 Fat Quarters of Fabric for Blocks
2 Yards of Fabric for Background
1/2 Yard Fabric for Binding
3 Yards of Fabric for Backing
I just love these soft pink baby colors but you could easily make the background fabric a dark gray. Those turnstile blocks would really pop out or float with a darker color, and it would look totally different . I am a sucker for baby quilts, though. I have yet to try the dark background, but someday soon!
Has this tutorial made it to your to-do list? Have you already made one similar? We’d love to hear about it if so!
