Quilt Along Updates – Squares Galore
We are participating in Grandma’s Kitchen and I Wish You A Merry quilt along. Some of our quilty friends are participating too which helps keep us motivated. In theory anyway. This week two blocks were released. One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, and we got them both done already. Yippee!
GK Quilt Along
Block #12 is called Kitchen Door. I am a big fan of pinwheels, and a new fan of the half-square triangle. That is one versatile little block! Just twist and turn it until you get the look you like with it. Pat Sloan, who is designing the quilt along, challenged us to check our blocks and fabrics to see if we like the direction they are going. Sue and I both are not thrilled with the striped fabric on each corner . . . but not enough to remake the blocks it is found in. So, there you have it!
I Wish You A Merry quilt along
Just one block was released on Tuesday for this quilt along. This time we were challenged to make a snowman. Here it is pre-embellishment and then the finished embellished block:
Here is a shot of our design wall with all five blocks on it:
I enjoy the direction both of these quilt alongs are going, and am looking forward to the next blocks. Not to mention seeing how they all come together when complete!
Our Linky Parties page shows our quilting friends’ websites – see what they’re up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your latest project or you’re quilt along blocks! We would love to see them. Thank you!
