Road Trip – Buttons and Bolts Fabric
The Wisconsin Shop Hop started on Friday, June 2nd. That meant if we wanted to visit all the shop in Section 1, we needed to get in a visit to Buttons and Bolts Fabric & Quilting Supply. Located in Salem, Wisconsin on Hwy. 50, it is very easy to locate this shop. We met Heather, the owner, who was quite friendly. She was cutting some fabric for her mom, who was straightening in the back when we stopped in. Heather was happy to tell us and a few other customers who stopped in about the Shop Hop.
Buttons and Bolts Owner
The store has a good selection of fabrics, and patterns. They have a lot of models throughout the shop, with the fabric or pattern close by. They had some really cute fabric children’s books made up with a wire basket beneath them holding the panels. Sue and I both noticed this cute table runner with bird houses and friendly looking birdies:
Buttons and Bolts does offer classes, and has a separate area permanently set up for this. Throughout the shop there are model labels with a class name and date offered. I found a few classes that I thought we should take! We found one other model (I apologize for the rather dark photo) that we both love:
It uses a MSQC template that we have but have never used. Perhaps this will go on the project list soon. ~smile~
We have always found this shop to be well stocked and have offerings that are special. This is where we found the nursing themed fabrics for the folding wallet we made for our nurse-to-be. While the Shop Hop pulled us in today, this is a shop that we will definitely go back to again and again.

Looks like a great place to shop. Enjoy your hop, hope your stash management goals don’t suffer too much.
Hi Kathy! HAHA – stash management. Good one – do I have any stash management?? I am doing to participate in a sew-along at the end of the month with Pat Sloan, so I do have a few items that I need to pick up for that. Plus who knows what else . . . ~smile~ Roseanne
Good luck on your shop hop! Too much fun. Our Minnesota hop starts the end of July.
Hi Nancy! I was planning on doing a little hopping today. I wonder how long the MN hop is? I’ve made my list of things I absolutely need to pick up while hopping. ~smile~ Roseanne
