Saturday Miscellaneous Stuff
Happy Saturday to all! We are going to the BIG sale at Nancy’s Notions today that I mentioned on Thursday. I sure hope we can get the spinning mat – that will really make cutting and trimming blocks easier.
I have taken a few minutes to start the spiral quilting on the 16-patch and framed 4-patch quilt. Here is a shot of the beginning circle;
Spiral Quilting

First circle in the spiral quilting
I pulled the bobbin thread up to the front side. Eventually I will bury it in the batting layer. I haven’t decided if this circle is too big or not – what do you think? If it is, I can always go back when the rest is finished and add another row or two. My plan is to keep the rows about 1/2″ apart. I sure hope it goes well! They say the first few rows are the hardest . . . If you’re interested in reading about the spiral tutorial, I mentioned it in this Finding Nemo article and the link is there.
We’ll be back next week with our purchases and hopefully a road trip quilt shop report as well. Enjoy your weekend! I hope it a productive one for you. ~smile~
I hope you enjoyed the sale! I have a spinning cutting mat and really appreciate it while I cut out pieces for my Drunkard’s Path Quilt! I hope you were able to pick it up! 🙂
Hi Patricia! We all had a fabulous time, and we were able to get the mat! I was also lucky and got 50 of the Clover clips for only 14.99 and they are pink. I think I got some great bargains, and learn some new things from the vendors ~smile~
