Table Runner Aways Club Update
A while back I told you about Sue being a member of the Runner Aways Club at school. Their goal is to make a table runner for every month. They started with September, and all three members have completed their runner. I thought you would like to see their interpretations of the same pattern, and will share them here.
Table Runner #1
First up and in the header is Kathleen’s apple table runner. She was the last to finish her runner, but the only one who stuck closest to the original pattern as far as the apple goes:
As you can see, she added fabric to represent the core of the apple. I love her choices for both background and apple fabrics. Especially the chevron apple and the checkered (or it is small circles) background!
Rosalie finished her table runner second, and here it is:
She chose to omit the core and seeds of the apple. That first apple on the left looks so textured that I just want to touch/feel it. And how cute is the polka dotted one?! The ladies swapped border fabrics so we should see some that are similar, but I do not see many. At least not in these shots.
Sue’s runner was finished first, mainly because I was the driving force behind it. I wanted it done and off my list so I could move on to other projects. ~smile~
Hey, that’s what is missing from the other two runner – the alphabet and numbers! I kept looking at them . . . I am not sure how they quilted their runner, but we discussed all the details in this article Apple Runner Update and also this article Apple Table Runner Complete.
Up next for the Club is the October runner. They’d better get it together and started before school ends. Maybe I’ll have a new runner to share in September. ~smile~
