Thanksgiving Thursday Things I Love #8
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our US friends! It is one of my favorite holidays, and I hope you are able to spend it with people you love. Here are a couple of the things that I love for the week. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. Read about them and then check out the posts of our friends. It is rather addictive looking for all the positives once you get started, and you are welcome to join us.
Multitasking is required in so many areas of my life, and I enjoy doing so. Do you know of any quilters that only work on one project until it is complete? I do not know a single one. I actually hate to say how many projects are ongoing at our house right now – but I would bet it is in the double digits. How about you? I believe studies show that it isn’t possible to multitask – the brain can really only concentrate on one thing at a time. Does quilting disprove this belief? The whole idea of leaders and ends I think dispels it quite nicely or multitasking at its best.
I know I may have said this before, but I am really so happy that I found my way to LeeAnna and the group of likers. Each person seems to touch me each week with their own spin on likes. It seems that He puts people in your path that you need or that will convey a message that you need to hear for some reason. I find this to be true week after week and it has only been eight weeks so far. Thank you to each of you for sharing your uplifting messages.
The Sunday surprise coffee hour for Jeanette was a huge success. We managed to not say anything to her, which is very hard for Sue. She came over and her grandson, John, was shortly on her heels – our usual coffee group although John doesn’t drink coffee. He raids the candy drawer. ~smile~ In walked Richard and his crew with donuts, only to be followed by Andrea and Dominic. It was almost like Christmas Eve although we were a few peeps short – lots of chatter, laughter, and the baby being passed around. We got a few pictures or maybe 100. HAHA! We discovered that Jaxson can stand on one foot for at least 5 minutes without even trying!
A happy, singing, cooing baby. Really – IS there anything better?? I may be a wee bit biased but I do not believe there is anything that can top this. I challenge you to listen to this and not smile a big HUGE smile. If you don’t smile, leave me a comment. I’m going to ask you why not?!?! It is only 41 seconds long and a little dark (AND, he’s not laying on a quilt – savage):
I am quite proud of myself that I figured out how to add a video! ~smile~
That’s it for this week! If you are celebrating Thanksgiving, please know that we give thanks for each one of you and don’t eat too much. ~smile~ Roseanne
