To-Do #103 Weekly Update Review
This is our 103rd edition of our weekly to-do list. We share this post on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays. Check out what our friends are sharing!
To-Do for the week of March 25th through 31st:
- Start working on Harley t-shirt quilt – √ done
- Sew the borders on Dr. Seuss – √ done
We started cutting apart the t-shirts for a Harley Davidson motorcycle quilt for a friend. It is a gift for her husband. There is no stress to get it finished as she is in no hurry for it. It is still scary to cut apart these t-shirts! Interestingly enough, all the shirts are black except for this one orange beauty. We found a fabric called Concrete in black, although to me it looks like black and gray.
Now we need to come up with a layout for the 25 t-shirts of various sizes.
Gathering the second Dr Seuss quilt top and border strips on my sewing table, I found I was one strip short. Oh, darn. Another excuse to put off working on this quilt you might think. Nope! Sue stepped right up and cut me another strip the very next day before she went to work. How nice and sweet of her, huh?! With not one single reason for delay, I just HAD to get it done. It is layered and I’ll start quilting in a simple crosshatch with my walking foot. Here is the backing fabric we chose.
I did a little buttonholing on our Spring table runner this past week. Sue would like this one finished up since it is Spring now. Yay! I started on it in May 2018. ~eye roll~ I’m working on it – I guess it is past time to get ‘er done.
Our March goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is to complete a Dumbo baby quilt for a coworker. All the details were shared earlier this week in Dumbo – Our March OMG Finished. It’s time to think about our April goal!
To-Do for the week of April 1st (no fooling!) through 7th
- Start quilting Dr Seuss quilt
- Make color block for April
- Find a new hand quilting project for Sue
