- Pick up the Harley Davidson t-shirts – √ done
Ta-da! Spring Wave is all together, layered and ready for quilting. Not only does this complete our January OMG project, but it also gives Sue a stress outlet. She enjoys hand quilting so much! This time she is planning on using basic shapes for her quilting pattern, like square, circle, triangle and star. Those sound like fun, don’t you think?
Well yes, this quickie 36″ square quilt was finished in a blink of an eye. Perhaps more than a blink, but quickly because we were on a mission. Our sweet new baby girl has had tummy time without the proper quilt to lay upon. Thankfully, that has been rectified and all is well. All the details were shared last week, if you want to know more. ~smile~
Dare I share any details about our Show Your Wings blog hop project?? How about a peek at the pretty fabrics? These are some fun Kaffe “Rowan” prints that were gifted to us from Lori at Quilting Needs. These fun colors are just perfect for this application. Appliqué has begun, but there will be a pieced option as well.
Yippee! While it was VERY cold (-16 degrees) last Saturday morning, I was able to gather the t-shirts for a Harley Davidson quilt. This will be a quilt for Deena’s husband, Tim, who is a huge Harley Davidson fan. I was thrilled to meet Deena and to get a look at the assortment of t-shirts. This kind of creativity is right up our alley. I imagine we will start clipping them apart shortly.
Back on the Dr. Seuss bandwagon, Sue divided the 80 blocks into
three four separate quilt piles. These blocks were bigger than the ones we used previously, so we are using 20 in each quilt top. Arranged on the design wall, here is the first to be worked on with a bit of navy sashing strips.
Sue’s coworker reminded her that March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday, so we have a little time before the celebration. And to have them all finished and listed on Etsy!
Our January goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is complete! Spring Wave is a quilt top, all layered for hand quilting by Sue. A post was shared with all the dets last Saturday. It’s almost time to come up with a February goal since Friday is the first.
To-Do for the week of January 28th through February 5th
