To-Do #52+43 Weekly Recap Update
To-Do for the week of January 28th through February 3rd:
- January color block wrapped up – √ done
- Continue on with Dr Seuss #1 of 4 – √ done
- Work on second Bee Hive block – √ done
For the first month participating in a block-of-the-month sew along, we love our green block. All the details were shared just a few days ago in the Color of the Month Block Connection post. Now that it’s February, we can start working on the pretty pink block.
The first of four Dr Seuss quilts to be made this quarter is finished. Are you tired of hearing about them already? We used a navy solid Kona for the sashing, borders and binding. Quilting consists of good ole straight line stitching with my walking foot in both directions for a diamond-shaped crosshatch design. My favorite!
Ooh, the February Bee Hive block is a fun one! It’s called Fizzy for our ‘queen’ Amanda, and this is her sample. On the right are our fabrics. I love that pink dotted fabric on top – I have never seen that before!! I wonder what and when we picked that up?! This is a good use for it though. I’ll be tracing some half circles and giving them a try. Fingers crossed.
Our February goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is to complete a quilt top from the Make Mine a Double quilt block. These fabrics have been chosen, and they provide us much inspiration! Also, here’s the layout of our test block.
