To-Do Tuesday Edition #18
Here is our 18th edition of our to-do list that runs from Tuesday to Monday. How did we do last week?
To-Do Tuesday for the week August 8th through August 14th
- Start sewing the jigsaw puzzle baby quilt – √
- Sew block #7 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL – √
- Start a new baby quilt called Leftovers – √
- Maybe sew a bit on the second ABC quilt so it gets off the design wall – nope!
We not only started sewing this jigsaw quilt, we found the border material we are going to use. It was hard to start sewing until we knew which color direction we want to focus on. We went with a white polka-dotted fabric. We love dots!
Grandma’s Kitchen block #7 was a fun one. I enjoyed making it, although it took me a couple of days to get it sewn. When it was released on Wednesday night I was just too darn tired. Ditto on Thursday. But for some reason Friday-the-start-of-the-weekend-night seems to revive me. ~smile~ It is another 12″ block, and we kept the same beige fabric for the centers:
We found the pattern Leftovers by Modern Quilt Relish when we were in Phoenix. Some fabulous fabric called Confetti along with some colorful fat quarters found their way home with us for a quilt. I am referring to the quilt as confetti – that sounds much better to me than the pattern title! We made great progress on it and here is a peek and the pattern:
This was silly – I should have never put this on the to-do list. Sue wants it off the design wall. Pieces of the fabric float to the floor, often to be placed in a new (improved?!) spot. I see no reason to sew this quickly. We have one in our Etsy shop – we don’t need to rush on another. I guess it could be leaders/enders though . . .
We found fabric for Sue’s sister (sometimes called Sissy or Janice) housewarming gifts. She requested a new topper for her table and runner for her breakfast bar. She wants to pull out gray and taupe in her granite and wall colors, and gave us a paint chip to use for matching colors. The topper needs to be 19″ x 19″ and the runner 11″ x 48″. We are leaning toward our new favorite HSTs like we used in the Airplane quilt layout choices. More on this project soon!
OH, and a certain animal quilt was completed by our friends at Corner to Corner Quilting Service. Perhaps a binding was sewn on and tacked down, and just maybe a post will be coming about that soon, too. ~smile~
To-Do Tuesday starting August 15th:
- Update the sewing room layout – new sewing table coming – yippee!
- Sew block #8 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL (weekly Wednesday release)
- Sew block #2 in the I Wish You a Merry QAL (every other Tuesday release)
- Finish sewing the confetti baby quilt
- Quilt table topper and runner for Sissy
