To-Do Tuesday Linky #31 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 31st linky party post and the 151st edition of the weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.
To-Do for the week of March 3 through 9:
- Pick out the fabrics for a hexagon baby quilt – √ done
- Select fabrics for the Mayflower block – √ done
- Find fabrics for the OMG project! – √ done
We are making a baby quilt for Sue’s boss and we’re using a free pattern I found for a Simple Hexagon Quilt using no y-seams. Colors for the baby’s room and a theme were discussed and then the shopping began in earnest. By Northcott, the Stonehenge line was chosen for colors that matched their theme the best. We’ll get started on it shortly and it’s going to be added to our quarter two finish-a-long list.
The Mayflower block is the next release in Melva sew along called Pieces From the Past. As the third block in her series, this post also shares a letter written to her grandparents back in 1946 after the war. What a fabulous piece of history this is – you can check it out at the link I shared as well as see other quilter’s blocks as they finish them. We’re going to have a purple boat and sails . . . the blue of the water looks a little like what we imagine the Caribbean.
Fabric for the Farm animal Placemat(s) has been selected, specifically for the Duck to start which needs green, orange and (imagine this!) yellow. We used this bundle of fabulous Icon Elements last year for a quilt and have some leftover. They’re nearly a solid . . . only better (you could get behind this print, Mary!).
After deciding that we should participate in the Project Quilting 11.5 challenge, we made a doll quilt to send to A Doll Like Me. All the dets were shared just in time before the seven-day deadline was over. The backing fabric seems like a good choice for March Madness!
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party which opened on the first. We are making a Farm Animal placemat or two for this month. Sue thinks we only need to make one but I say we have two great littles in one house – they can’t share a placemat. Look for two!
To-Do for the week of March 10th through March 16th:
- Baste panel two of the Salem Witches
- Size t-shirts for potential layout
- Make the Mayflower block
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link!
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
