To-Do Tuesday Linky #39 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 39th linky party post and the 159th weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.
It’s been a number of months now (39 weeks, to be exact) since we’ve taken over To-Do Tuesday from Christine. We’ve been to-doing for over three years already! I’m just wondering if you find this type of link-up party helpful for you? Should we shift the focus, change the name, add something more . . . anything? We would love to hear your ideas in the comments! Now on to the regular programming of our to-do list.
To-Do for the week of April 28th through May 4th:
- Decide on the May OMG project – √ done
- Sew the Our Country block – √ done
- Sew the May Color block – √ done
Yes! We dug back to a forgotten project from April 2019, a dark blue batik baby quilt. Technically, it hasn’t been forgotten because it has been folded on the stuffed chair in the sewing room. Easily visible with each pass into and out of the room, it has quietly flounced its presence. Strictly speaking, this project was abandoned due to repeated thread breakage and general annoyance. Poor thing! It has had just the perfect amount of experience in time-out. It will become our May OMG project.
Melva’s sew-along called Pieces From the Past released the fifth block recently. Called Our Country, this block is good-sized at 16.5″. We used red and blue fabrics that were part of the fabric bundle we’re devoting to this sew-along. The layout pictured below has a few rows sewn together. Have I mentioned lately that I’m wild about this fabric?!!
On Friday, I shared all of the glamorous details about the May 2020 Color block. This month’s color is a yummy shade of emerald green with a slight print. All of this year’s focus fabrics share the same minimal print, which is a nice theme to carry throughout.
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party. Mentioned in item #1 above, this month we plan to quilt and bind this baby quilt. Started in 2019, it is time to put a sweet period on this baby.
To-Do for the week of May 5th through 11th:
- Add sashing strips to Animal ABCs charm pack blocks
- Return to quilting the hexagon baby quilt
- Continue hand quilting the May OMG
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool
- Don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway or promotion for your newest pattern release – I didn’t think I’d have to say this but apparently, I do!
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Also, please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link!
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
