To-Do Tuesday Linky #42 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 42nd linky party post and the 162nd weekly to-do list. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week. “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.
To-Do for the week of May 19th through 25th:
- Make significant progress on the t-shirt quilt – √ done
- Sew the wonky blocks into quilt rows – √ done
- Continue applique on the Easter topper – not done
To-Do #1
I would say that getting all the t-shirts sewn into a quilt top is significant progress, wouldn’t you? Happily enough, some quality time on Saturday allowed us to get the issue with row one wrapped up. After some seam ripping the sewing continued. We have ordered a pretty backing and once it arrives I’ll get to quilting.
To-Do #2
The wonky blocks have been sewn into rows but the rows are not a quilt top quite yet. The littles stopped in for a Memorial Day visit and there was no sewing after that. This may be the layout we chose for the blocks – I cannot recall if we switched anything around or not!
To-Do #3
Motivation to work on the Easter topper was greatly lacking. Next Easter is a LONG ways off . . . no real rush for this piece, right?!
May OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party each month. Our May project was to finish hand quilting this dark blue batik baby quilt. Here’s a reminder of the quilt with sweet pea, baby Colt laying on it.
To-Do for the week of May 26th through June 1st:
- Determine the June OMG project
- Pick out fabrics for Iris Ann’s baby quilt
- Something – anything else!
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool
- Don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway or promotion for your newest pattern release – I didn’t think I’d have to say this but apparently, I do!
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Also, please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen. I hope you check them out and/or add your own link!
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
I am not normally a big fan of t-shirt quilts, but the colors here, and all those wonderful tie-dyes, really make an attractive layout. Way to go! I like the variety in the wonky squares, too. That Twist’nTurn technique is so helpful for so many things. I’ve always used it to put together blocks that were just a *little* different in size, and it’s super for that, but this looks great, too. Sharyn Craig is a genius!
You made a darling quilt for Colt but he really makes it picture perfect. The wonky blocks are so much fun. They’d be the perfect scrap-busting project – great even for RSC. Hope you are staying safe and sane. Hugs from afar.
I love the colors in your wonky blocks. Glad to see you are staying busy.
Congrats on completing your list! Love the tshirt quilt and those wonky blocks! They make my heart happy! Have fun this week with the squirrels you have invited into your studio 😉 Carol
You two have some nice happy projects going there! I’m sure having littles drop by is a great way to spend Memorial Day! I was going to put “something” as #2 on my list, but didn’t brave it for this coming week! Hope you get to something wonderful!
T-shirt quilts should be banned they are so hard and non-quilters think they are k”easy” Why, I don’t know. But you, dear Roseanne have nailed it.
Love that cutie on that really dynamic blue quilt.
Take care.
What a busy lady you bee. I think the t-shirt quilt will be great and that wonky block quilt is so cheerful. I can understand the dilemma with the Easter bunny.,…I can’t even think about starting Christmas projects and before we know it it will be knocking on the door!! I knew you’d get to see the littles this weekend. Glad you did.
Baby Colt is just the cutest little guy!!! I really like your wonky squares quilt. You get so much done!! ❤️❤️
Hi Roseanne,
I think your Easter topper is going to be SEW cute … I notice that you left it off the To Do list for this week. Why don’t you just bite the bullet and get that bunny done? And then you’re all ready for next year? 🙂 (Says me who knows what it’s like to have a zillion UFOs!)
Your wonky blocks are lovely. Have you taken a pic of them in grayscale? if you haven’t sewn it together yet, you may want to move a few around. (Just saying …)
I really like how you left your list open : #3 : Something … that leaves lots of room for squirrels! or DREMIs! Which, in my book translates into “Fun!”
Happy Quilting! 🙂
Nice job! I’m liking those wonky blocks and am anxious to see their progress and how you quilt it.
Hi,
Great accomplishment for last week. Love all your
quilts, so pretty. Have a great day!
Oh baby Colt is adorable! I love the lay out of the wonky blocks. I am trying to figure out a quilt design for lots of odd ball fabrics and that one would work great. Have a great week and good luck on your goals!
These projects are certainly keeping you busy. I bet it’s nice to switch between big and small.
Having a real problem with this being Tuesday, but so be it. Congrats on last week; t shirt quilts are notoriously hard to get together and you did an excellent job. You may even have it down to a science! I am seeing room for a squirrel in your future….
Great job on getting the Tshirt quilt top all put together! A great move in the right direction;) Don’t worry about those bunnies, it will happen when you are ready and in the mood to finish them up.
Love those wonky blocks
Great job on getting the t-shirts to a top, Roseanne! That’s always a huge accomplishment. I really like those wonky blocks, too – they’re going to make a fun quilt! Have a great week!
Yay for a completed list from last week! I have always liked those wonky block quilts, and I’m liking what I see on your design wall. “Something, anything” – woohoo! Let the fun begin!
Love those wonky blocks! Congrats on making such good progress with your list! How fun to leave #3 open…wonder what you will decide? 🙂
I’ve got to warn you, don’t put “Something” on the list, and especially not “anything else”, those are battle cries to the Squirrels to attack!!! They will wrap you up in Somethings and anything elses until you cannot see the sky!!!! I’ve been there, you’ve been warned!
HAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the warning Chris!
Congrats on getting all your items checked off last week. Looking forward to seeing what you select for to do number 3 this week.
