To-Do Tuesday Linky #8 & Weekly Progress Update
This is the 129th edition of the weekly to-do list and the eighth post as a linky party here on our website. Thanks to everyone who joined us last week.
To-Do for the week of September 24th through 30th:
- Finish the beehive blocks and mail them – √ done
- Sew some QOV blocks – √ done
Where, oh where, did September go?!! A small, sweet girl is about to be 9-months-old.
Happily enough, the Fizzy blocks for the September beehive queen have been completed. Kathy will receive them soon, as they were mailed last Thursday and a post about was shared last Friday. I am liking these Drunkard’s Path more and more each time I make them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they make another appearance beyond our most recent finish (Rainbow Ripples).
QOV blocks! Did you know there is a block drive going on called “Quilts of Valor® 2020 Block Drive”? Carole from From My Carolina Home wrote about this drive last week and I checked out the link she shared. Here’s a link directly from the QOV.org website for the National Block Drive instructions. Handily enough, the deadline for the block is December 1st. Plenty of time if you would like to join in yourself, and there is a link for each state if you want local info.
Their goal is 20,000 blocks for 2020, and we are going to help them achieve this goal. We have a TON of red- and blue-hued fabrics, and plenty of white fabrics with little stars on it. Just perfect for some QOV blocks, we think. Our involvement in this project has been a long-time goal, so it is about time we do it. Not to be a nag or anything (I’m SO good at that, though!), but I’m sharing another post about this along with another block drive that’s ongoing tomorrow.
I have no flipping idea what we should pick for our October OMG. This goal will be shared on Patty’s Elm Street Quilts website and linky party eventually. How did it get to be October already?!! Good thing I have a few days to come up with something.
To-Do for the week of October 1st through 7th
- Pick up the supplies for the dang squirrel project that must be done NOW (thank you Kathleen, Wendy, Sandra, et. al.)
- Get the new baby girl’s wall hanging ready for appliqué
Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:
- Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool (but don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway)
- Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
- Please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows
You will find the link-ups displayed on a separate screen – check them out!
The Linky Parties we join can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
