Tutorial-Bean Bag Toss Game Mat
We can be patriotic any time of year. Certainly the 4th of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day come to a national forefront for those in the USA. This Bean Bag Toss game/mat is shown in red, white and blue but could be made in any color scheme. Doesn’t this look fun and easy? Perfect for those days inside or outside – for kids of any age. Finish size is 30″ x 36″.

Noel shared this tutorial and when I read her blog I knew this tutorial had to be shared. All the bags/corn hole games I have ever seen were for outside. They are heavy, wooden affairs that only (drunk) men can move around. Not very child-friendly in my mind, nor do I want to carry them anywhere when it’s hot! I agree with Noel – this is the perfect outdoor or inside rainy day game that the whole family can play. It is NOT heavy, easily portable and quick to setup. ~smile~
This is really a takeoff on horseshoes only without the heavy steel horseshoes themselves and spikes. I can remember almost getting nailed with one of those things running around as a child. Whoa – that was close. Getting beaned (pun intended – HAHA) with one of these bags would not hurt anyone.
I just love this fabric with the states on it . . . too darn cute! Another clever fabric Noel used is a plastic tablecloth for the backing! She was going to be using it at the lake, on wet/damp sand – what a perfect option! Check out her tutorial for a great step-by-step tutorial. Noel also suggests a quilting and non-quilting method for finishing.
I think Jack or Remi (NOT the baby’s possible name – just my mental name for him or her!) might just need this to play at our house. I think even I might be able to hit that 50 point square now and then. Maybe . . . ~smile~ Would you like to make this? If so, for who??!
