Two A.D.D. Quilters Finding Focus?
Last week I lamented about our lack of focus, and how we were both showing signs of A.D.D. Several of our friends and readers of this blog suggested that we just take a break. Don’t stress over it and maybe take a little vacation. Indeed! We did nothing in the sewing room for a whole week! This is how we spent our funky week.
A.D.D. Quilter #1 – Sue
Sue was on Spring Break from school last week. She did some hand quilting on our Bubbles baby quilt. That quilting is almost halfway finished already. A binding has been added on one of the three lightweight receiving blankets from our UFO list, and she tacked it down during the week.
A.D.D. Quilter #2 – Roseanne
While I could have done some cross stitch, I did not. I did, however, keep my fingers in the game by doing some online shopping. In my own defense, I had to find a backing for my Postcard from Sweden quilt that was just completed. Right?! So I bought this backing after seeing it was on sale at Connecting Threads (thank you Myra for the affiliate link):
This fabric is peach colored – I apologize for the picture looking a bit dark. The graphic, linear nature drew me to it, and I thought it would go well with all the triangle shapes on the front. After finding this bargain, I received an email about Green Fairy having a clearance sale. Hmm. What else do we ‘need’, I asked myself. We can always use backings for baby quilts, thread, and solid yellow or gray charm packs:
Anything Else Accomplished?
Well, yes actually. We took Postcard in to Corner to Corner for longarm services on Saturday morning. Ellen helped us select the perfect thread color (can’t remember the name exactly, but gray) and an edge-to-edge design called Scribble. To me, it’s like a meander except the lines cross. Who knew that meander lines do not cross?!
Latsly, I also committed ourselves to another Mystery QAL hosted by Cindy and Tracy. I mentioned that in a post just yesterday, so you can read about it there. You may join in too – it’s not too late if you’re interested! We have ordered this fabric for that project:
I think we are finding our way out of the funk that lasted a good week. Thanks to some quilting friends, we will be starting a new project for Dominic. I’ll share all the great details on Friday. ~smile~
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
