Weekly To-Do #25 – Joining October OMG
This is our 25th edition of our to-do list, and here it is October already. We are also joining the October One Monthly Goal (OMG) for the first time. I’ll list our OMG goal with our weekly to-do list.
To-Do Tuesday for the week September 25th through October 1st:
- Sew block #13 and #14 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL – √ done
- Sew block #6 in the I Wish You a Merry QAL – √ done
- Design the Evening Star baby quilt – √ done
- Finish Dominic’s quilt – √ done
Last week, Sunday Dinner (block #13) in the Grandma’s Kitchen quilt-along was released. We did not complete it! Pat Sloan released the 14th block on Wednesday; it is called Salt & Pepper Shakers. Finally, we caught up on both blocks this week:
Block #6 in the I Wish You a Merry QAL is an angel appliquéd block. We are now officially halfway through this project. The QAL will release two blocks next time. We made a few small modifications: first, we changed the hair color of the angel; and second added our angel’s name. I love the sparkly silver fabric for the stars:
The Evening Star with the nine-patch centers in going to be our newly-joined October One Monthly Goal on Elm Street Quilts blog. We have the blue fabric from our recent road trip to quilt shops in Appleton. We will combine it with some white-on-white fabric since we often use that in the nine-patch quilt blocks. I’ll share more details shortly! Here is an example of what the pattern looks like:
The Play Ball quilt is finished and it has been washed. It is all quilty and squishy and ready for a baby boy to lay upon it. I’ll share a picture of him on his quilt next week. Here is Play Ball with just a peek of the last of the impatiens and the roses:
EXTRA: We modified the Garden Gate quilt from the pattern slightly. We will skip the sashing strips. A certain someone is one month old now! Here he is with Ellie the elephant and the stuffed version that he LOVES:
October OMG Goal:
- Complete the Evening Star with the nine-patch center blocks.
To-Do October 2nd through 8th:
