Weekly To-Do List Edition #22
This is our 22nd edition of our to-do list, and I shifted this to Monday through Sunday. Let’s see how we did with one less day last week:
To-Do Tuesday for the week September 4th through 10th:
- Sew block #11 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL – √ done
- Start embroidery/quilting on the princess quilt – √ started
- Bicycle fabric journal covers – find the journals first for size – √ ordered
- Start on donation microwave cozies – nope
- Baby animal panel – framed blocks – √ started
- Find baby boy stuff to sew – √ started
Peppermint Swirl is the name of block #11 in the Grandma’s Kitchen quilt-along. I didn’t know either of my grandmothers but my mom always had a dish of these as well as butterscotch hard candies in a dish. Always! It is another appliqué block that finishes at 10.5 inches. I sure would like to see the quilt layout for all these blocks!
We have the quilt layered, and the embroidery pattern has been selected. We chose pink as the thread color – should all the hearts be the same or a variety??
I want to make a journal covered with bicycle fabric for my boss for her birthday. She is a bicycling enthusiast and she always uses some sort of journal to keep notes in. You can’t beat stuff being delivered to your door, so I ordered a journal from Amazon.
Microwave cozies not started again this week. Good thing we have until Thanksgiving for them to be finished. Apparently they need to come off the list for a bit – neither one of us feel like working on them now.
The framed animal panel is now a work-in-progress. It is difficult to make a quilt out of an eight-patterned panel. The only choice is 2 x 4 . . . so we’re going to add our own center square and make it 3 x 3:
Making boy-themed quilts has come to the forefront (imagine that!). Fortunately, we have a bunch of projects that we put together in project bags. Sometimes we pick up charm packs from the daily MSQC specials and then ‘save’ them. Called Play Ball, you will see more of this quilt soon. I love the plaids and stripes in this collection:
Extra: I forgot about continuing to quilt To the Moon . . . so I worked on that this past week since Dominic is here now. ~smile~ He has given us a little diversion as he came for dinner on his first outing Friday night. Here he is at just six days old – I can’t resist sharing this little sweetheart’s picture. He’s snuggling under an afghan made by my co-worker, Gayle. ~smile~
To-Do September 11th through 17th:
- Sew block #12 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL
- Sew block #5 in I Wish You a Merry QAL
- Finish To The Moon baby quilt
- Continue embroidery on the Princess quilt
- Start the Play Ball quilt
- Start the journal cover
