A Little Bit of This and That Update
There are a few updates to share that don’t really have anything in common, but they certainly are interesting to note. At least I think so – HAHA!
Our doll quilts were shipped off to A Doll Like Me in New Berlin, Wisconsin. When we found out where they were going, to another city in Wisconsin not too far away from us, it made our hearts even happier. Recently, Amy sent us a message via our Facebook page and said thank you and that they had received the quilts. The best part is that “my two-year-old gasped when she saw the Curious George fabric on the back.” Amy shared that, “she is my biggest critic.” Aww, that really makes our hearts the happiest!
Remember the Spring table runner we are working on? It is a choice from the Runner Aways Club, and it needs to be appliquéd next before quilting (get in line!). Rosalie sent me a picture of her cute snowman runner that I thought you would love to see!
Rosalie’s on the left and ours is on the right!
Don’t these snowmen just make you smile? You really cannot help it – you smile back at them. Here is her Spring table runner update as well, with her’s on the left and our’s on the right:
I love the background and border fabrics Rosalie chose!
You may or may not recall that we won a $75 gift certificate from Stitch Stash Diva on Etsy. Not only was that incredibly cool, but it was also difficult to spend. Difficult?? Well, they have SO many cool fabrics . . . it was hard to choose. Happily, we were able to select $75 of fabrics (plus a little more!) over the holiday weekend. We just finished up a really fun blog hop and will be doing another toward the end of July. Here are just two of the fabrics we selected for that next hop. More details on that later!
We need a little motivational assistance with this That. Huh?! Our nephew is getting married in August. We would like to make a table runner and an island runner for him and his bride-to-be to replace the current, well loved editions that are not in her colors. The problem is finding fabrics to match those colors. We took a picture of their stoneware, and we have a paint chip from their kitchen. We don’t know what her style is – if she likes modern, flowers, traditional, or any other design. Not only will it be difficult to closely match the stoneware shade and the green/blue/teal/”Spring Rain” paint color but also introduce other colors depending on the fabric. What pattern/design would you choose??
This also shows one of the old runners the new ones will be replacing! Well loved and faded is good. ♥
One Last This
We have been quietly working on a t-shirt quilt for a friend. She may or may not read the blog, and I didn’t want her to see it before its time. However, she will be out of touch and off of the internet for a two week road trip! Sew, that means we can share a picture of the top along with the pretty backing we found.
Our plan is to layer this up and get it quilted very soon. We would love to present it to our friend, Pat, when she returns from her vacation. Hmm, how should I quilt it?? My constant dilemma.
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
