Cutest Dinosaur Quilt Ever!
Here’s a finish for this week. But we cannot take credit for the cutest dinosaur quilt ever. ~smile~ Our friend, Rosalie, made this dinosaur quilt for her nephew Forrest (Fox Edward‘s oldest brother!!). Forrest is visiting Rosalie and attending a week-long dinosaur school. This quilt is his ‘graduation’ present. It was truly a labor of love.
Dinosaur Love
Rosalie chose the pattern called Play time, Nap time, Any time quilts by Kim Schaefer. This involved a lot of fun colored fabrics and plenty of appliqué. Each time I look at this quilt I pick a new favorite dinosaur. I can hardly wait to hear which one is Forest’s favorite.
Here’s a good shot of the ‘lady bug’ dino, a.k.a. pterodactyl (I believe). It also gives a peak for my first favorite, the yellow guy. I didn’t get a picture of the backing fabric unfortunately. It is words of all types of dinosaurs, spelled out in different color letters. Forrest, who is four, loves to read. I’m told that he will read every name on the back of the quilt. Over and over and over. He will also point out each matching figure on the front of the quilt, I would guess.
One other fun thing Rosalie made is a matching pillowcase. He will go to dreamland on his dinosaur pillowcase and under the quilt. Stitched with lots of love.
We gave Rosalie the name of our friends over at Corner to Corner Quilting Service (hi Ellen and Linda!). They quilted this quilt for Rosalie. Once she got it back, she added the binding and boom. Done! I definitely need to make one of these should Baby J show any interest in dinosaurs. Don’t you think this is just too darn cute?!
Thank you, Rosalie, for letting me share this on our blog. ~smile~

That really is a cute one! Well done!
Hi Vera! Rosalie did a super job, and Forest will just love it I’m sure. I have to get a photo of him with the quilt to share. Thank you for stopping by and your nice comment! ~smile~ Roseanne
Being a homeschooler, I love the idea of a week long dinosaur school with an awesome graduation present! Super cute quilt with all the different dinosaurs and colors.
Hi Shannon! That would make an awesome unit, learning about all the different dinosaurs and when they existed, etc. I have to get a picture of the backing – it is beyond perfect! ~smile~ Thank you so much for your sweet comment and visit. Please come again. ~smile~ Roseanne
I love dinosaurs and i love appliqué. So cute and colorful!
Ho Tonya – I agree, the colors are just SO perfect in this. Rosalie did a super great job. ~smile~ Roseanne
That is so cute. I know your nephew will be a happy boy getting this. Almost as good as getting a new baby brother. 🙂 What a wonderful aunty you are.
Hi Peggy – it is almost as good as getting a new brother (and dinosaur camp)! Sometime I’ll have to ask him which is better?! ~smile~ Roseanne
That dinosaur quilt is adorable. The ladybug, as young Forest will tell you is a triceratops. I love the wonky dinosaurs and have a grandson who would also LOVE this quilt. Nice work, all the way around and such happy cute quilters. The pillowcase is a fun idea, too. I’d like to see that. Have you seen the book “Fun, Fast, and Easy Fabric Critter Bags,” by Mary Link? Great ideas for pillow cases with critter mouths made from giant plastic zippers. I love your etsy shop, and now to go check out your facebook page.
Hi Jane! WOWEE, what fabulous comments. I’m almost blushing here. I will check out that book – creative pillow cases are right up my alley. I will get a picture of the pillowcase (maybe with Forest even!) and share on FB. I have seen those big mouths from plastic zippers. SO cute. Thank you again for stopping by {{hugs}}. Please stop again. ~smile~ Roseanne
