What a pretty quilt! It will be done in no time I am sure.

  3. Pretty quilt! I have hand quilted a batik quilt – It is very difficult and hard on the hands! UNLESS you stitch long stitches. Hugs

  4. You’ve used some wonderful batiks in this quilt, and how fun that Sue will be using a whale shape to outline with her hand quilting. Can’t wait to see it finished! Take care, Mary.

Love this and envy Sue being able to hand quilt it. It’s going to be really lovely. I already love the pattern of the nine patches and larger blocks.

Hello Roseanne, This is a beautiful baby quilt in every aspect! I am not a big Batik fan, yet there are some splendid fabrics in this quilt that I would gladly use myself!! Irish Chain style quilts are always fun to make and they work well in so many various combinations they can also be challenging. I look forward to seeing Sue’s Hand Quilting design when it is all finished! Have a great day!

I really like the colors and dimple design! It will look very cute with whales hand stitched! Can’t wait to see the finish!

  8. I will be great with the whales and border quilting! Good luck on your project…seems pretty doable to me.

I think you gals can handle this for May:) A simple nine patch and squares add up to a pretty quilt IMHO.

  10. A pretty quilt, a whale of a handquilting project for Sue, with some finishing touches by you! A grand goal for May! Will be fun to see it finished!

This is a very pretty quilt, of course, blues are my favorite. I’m curious to hear a report from Sue how the hand quilting goes. I’ve always avoided using batik fabric in any quilt I’m going to hand quilt. I’m afraid it will quilt hard, batik has a tight weave. Please make sure you share her thoughts about the quilting. Thanks and have a wonderful quilting week!

  12. That is a beautiful quilt and with Sue handquilting it, any Mom would love to have it gifted to her baby. 😄

  13. Wow … hand quilting this in a month??? That sounds like a pretty big goal to me!!! (I’m sure it would take me a year to hand quilt it!)
At any rate, I really like it! it’s a simple design, but very effective!
I look forward to seeing the finished quilt!
Happy Quilting to you & Sue! 🙂
