Garden Gate Quilting Decision
Thank you to those of you who left a comment about how to quilt our three flimsies in waiting! I have to be honest . . . two people suggested a wide zigzag or chevron, and I didn’t see it. Hmm, I thought. Two people who do quilting, and ‘listen’ to their quilts suggested it. I just didn’t see it. Thankfully, Cindy sent me the link to her quilt and the lightbulb went on. OHHHHH. I get it now, and I can actually see it. Duh! Cindy’s post and picture absolutely makes me confident that is the correct decision on how to quilt our flimsy. Ellen – thank you as well!
Decision Made – Garden Gate

Garden Gate waiting to be quilted
So, what am I talking about for those of you who didn’t comment, don’t care, or for whatever reason you are reading now?! The Garden Gate quilt top is finished and is just waiting patiently to be quilted. Rarely do we have quilt tops sewn without a plan for quilting. That is just part of my process – I can see it finished in my mind before we even start cutting. This was not a pattern we chose – it was rather ‘forced’ upon us (HAHA) as it came with the fabric (which was too good a price and color palate to not buy). Anyhoo, that led to me asking for help because this darn quilt top was not speaking to me. At all.
Did you check out the link above from Cindy yet?!! If not, do so . . . because it is really pretty . . . and it totally makes the quilt. That is just what I want for this quilt, especially the wider breaks in the quilting that makes the fabric kind of puffy. Perfect!! We have the backing fabric – in fact, we have two that would work because we forgot we had the first one. Ooh, choices! Those are nice. A light colored thread will work . . . OR should I use a variegated thread? What?!! Right out there on the edge, I’d be. That might just be perfecter if that were a word. Now that I have my quilting mojo back, I’ll get right on it. ~smile~

Roseanne, Thank you so much for the link back to my blog! You are awesome! 🙂
Thanks for the link to her zig zag quilting-can’t wait to see yours finished!
Hi Vicki,
Isn’t Cindy’s quilt just fab?!! So, if I can sew this as nicely as she did it will also look fab. In theory, anyway. ~smile~ Roseanne
