I Love Thursday #101 Small Blessings
This is the 101st post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will certainly find something to inspire you.
Lunchroom tables! I’m sharing more student artwork today because I thought this was just so darn cute. These pretty rainbow colors reflect the new lunchroom tables in our school that serve grades K-2. The student noted, “South School is a fine, fine school because it has a ‘grayt’ lunchroom.”
National Jelly Roll Day! Susan at Quiltfabrication shared that this Saturday is National Sew a Jelly Roll Day. That sounds like the kind of day most quilters can get behind as who doesn’t have a jelly roll just waiting to be used?! You can find more details at Moda’s Project Jelly Roll website. If you make something with a Jelly Roll on Saturday, we’d like to hear about it. One of my favorite things to make with a JR is Mary’s pattern called 16-patch framed 4-patch. We’ve made two of these quilts already and it uses up just about all of the fabric.
Sesame Street books! It was time to get some new books at our house now that sweet girl likes to
read chew on them. . Dominic has loved to read them out loud for months now, and she often gets read to by her brother. He even points to the words and appropriate picture quite often. This is the second set of these books I’ve ordered but the first for our house. I’m not sure why it took me so long to stock up!
Dominic didn’t heed momma’s advice, which was, “She’s going to bite you.” I can’t say if she did or not . . . Then we have a big boy sitting in a big boy chair, smiling at this sister. Oh, it’s clearly a big girl chair, too. Dominic, you’re in my way, Addison says. No worries, I’ll just crawl over you. We can both see outside if I stand on my tippy, tippy toes. Here’s a sweet innocent girl with her orange ring. And that was just before she tried so hard to get the remote – let me see that remote, please. Finally, Addi has discovered sticking out her tongue and sighing. Just a little sigh, and when we copy she smiles and sighs again. She’s getting momma ready for those teen years already. ♥ ♥ ♥
