I Love Thursday #109 Blessings Galore
This is the 109th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Happy 100th Birthday! My Aunt Jeanette turned 100-years-old last Saturday. Her daughter and family hosted a birthday party for her. Over 130 friends and family attended the party to wish her well and sing HB. A polka band serenaded all of us and invited us to shake a leg. I am certain all had a good time!
Love #2
Dichotomy of weather! Last week I shared photos of some pretty leaves one day followed by snow the next. This week we have icicles on the window, snow on the ground and leaves still on the trees right outside my office window. It was in the single digits Tuesday and Wednesday mornings but the sunshine felt so good on my back as I worked away on the computer.
Love #3
My life’s motto! The older you get the more you realize that you need to surround yourself with that later type of person. You will be able to identify each category of people you know when you reflect upon it, won’t you? Sometimes it a very, very hard lesson to learn though.
Love #4
Custodian love! This container was recently delivered to our office for one of our part-time custodians. Another fun item to share, our PTO put one of these together for each of the custodians throughout the district. It contained some fun treats, and who doesn’t like to be acknowledged for being a part of the team?!
Love #5
Addison just turned 10 months old last week, and she’s styling for her photoshoot. She loves to play peek-a-boo with the bucket, and then she laughs and laughs. Dominic and Addison love to play in Addison’s bedroom early in the morning. Addison found a new book to read – it used to be a favorite of her brother’s as well. The bigger the bucket, the bigger the laugh and echoing noise! Please note that Dominic is in possession of HIS highchair while his sister is delighted by the bigger bucket. Even though it’s too small for him. ~smile~ Gaga went with to the holiday parade and the Christmas tree lighting and posed with her favorite (only) granddaughter. Finally, the sweet family posed for a nice photo while waiting to see Santa. Addison’s hat is missing its eyes – they’ve been loved right off. ♥ ♥ ♥

100! Amazing. If my Mom makes it to 100 ( she will be 90 in December), we must have a polka band! How wonderful for the custodian to be recognized – we often forget the people “behind the scenes”. Enjoy your weekend!
Love that family photo-must be awfully cold there. I also love the gifts for custodians!! Happy Birthday to Aunt Jeanette. What a milestone.
Happy 100th Birthday! Wonderful to hear about the celebration too! Thank you for sharing the pictures of your family. So sweet!
Love those babies, Aren’t the two of them a hoot? Dom with her high chair and she with her bucket, makes my heart sing to see those babies! Love the gift basket for the custodian–so thoughtful! Have a great week!
Like everyone here, I love the shares! Especially Aunt Jeanette…looks like your family has longevity genes!
🙂
Lots of good likes. 100 – that’s wonderful!
Happy Birthday to your Aunt – 100 years – wow! How neat that so many people came out to celebrate, Roseanne! I love the gift for your custodian – they work so hard for students and staff. Buckets sound like a very fun toy!
Hello Roseanne, Your entire post was filled with delight! I smiled the whole time I was reading what a fantastic family you have to share life with! I am so glad that you chose to share these memories with us! Thank you and have a marvelous day!!!
What smart management to acknowledge custodians. Hospitals should certainly be doing that big time! It sounds like you’ve landed in a good spot to work.
Imagine, 100 years old! I too really enjoyed that quote. It is so true. So many of us think we can change people if we just keep working at it.
The littles are certainly growing and so adorable to see.
I love Thursdays because I get to see all the photos of those lovely kids. Thank you for sharing them. What a wonderful PTO at your school to honor those employees usually forgotten in the rush. And that crazy weather you guys keep having. Wishing for a little bit of rain in sunny Nevada. Congratulations to your aunt….101, here she comes!!
100?!?! God bless her and please wish Aunt Jeanette many many happy birthday blessings from me! And as usual your pictures just tickle my heart! That 10 month old pose is just the best! Stay warm ladies. The cold snap has reached here in CT too!
that kind of gift is one that keeps on giving… everytime the recipient thinks of it. It’s a way to make someone want to be their best as they are part of a team. I wish everyone valued each other like that. I like your quote and heard once the nastiest people teach us lessons in some way, or build strength in us. 10 months old! What a big girl now!
Oh 100 years young – how wonderful! Sounds like a fun party too. So many good things in here, Roseanne! Thanks for sharing.
Happy 100th birthday to the aunt. LOL Dichotomy of weather? Is that nicer than calling it bipolar? Always great to see the kiddos. Seriously Addison is only 10 months? She seems to be much more advanced, perhaps that is because she has a big brother to keep up with. Awesome likes.
wow 100 – I hope your aunt enjoyed the party I bet she was seeing some family that she hadn’t seen for awhile.
Oh wow 100, I just love hearing that. I can almost hear the giggles coming from the littles bucket:)
AH, there’s my sugar dose for the day…thank you! Now we can make it through the weekend! Congratulations to your aunt on her 100th! Amazing! And to have that many attend…what a loving group of people! That says more about her life than anything else…when you’re surrounded by that many who love you, you’ve done “life” way better than most…
