I Love Thursday #111 – Happy B’day & Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today! Happy Birthday to Andrea!! This is our 111th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love to all of YOU!
Short and sweet this week you’d think but no, not really. We wish all of our U.S. friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. Many blessings to all of you, your family and friends. We hope you have many things to be thankful for. We will be spending the day with family and friends, and enjoying time with our sweet boy, Dominic and his sister, Addison. Here is Dominic just two years ago. Oh, how time flies by.
Grandma isn’t the only one that loves this little turkey! ♥ ♥
Dominic says Gobble, Gobble – Happy Thanksgiving! This was just made for us just last year, and I still love it. Soon we’ll have a picture of Addison’s first Thanksgiving and maybe even a footprint turkey picture. One can only hope. ♥ ♥
Love ♥ Story ♥ Reminiscing
Today is also a Happy Birthday to our niece, Andrea. She was born just a few short years ago on Thanksgiving. Her parents were fairly newly married, and her Mom was so happy to be a first-time mom. That is until one month before she was born, and hormones caused her to be a bit LOT grumpy. We all swooned over the first granddaughter on both sides! What a sweet, little pink bundle she was. We got to babysit her when Mom and Dad went to a Christmas party after church. In between, Mom made a casual frantic dash inside to check on the three of us. We were just chillin’ like villains. What could possibly go wrong with TWO adults and a not-quite-one-month-old baby?! Holding that baby girl – I hogged her the whole night – who could possibly foresee into the future and what impact she would have?!!
Thanksgiving Baby Love
We went through some rough, fabulous, special, and endearing times with this girl. Barging along on a family vacation to Disney World was one of them and was SO fun! We shared a very important rule which is to be sure to eat dessert first. Especially on a birthday! Barely a teen when her Dad died, we helped keep the stress level for all involved to a minimum. We made a return trip to Disney sans Dad. It is still a family mystery as to how Grandma (GG) got up on the cement wall. We all exited the Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster ride, and there she sat, swinging her legs! Lots of pool time was spent in our backyard. Another important rule was quickly established and shared – no swimming alone. That is unless you were floating around on a lounger and allowed a verbal check every 10 5 2 minutes.
That’s just a small glimmer into the love we have for that girl, her brothers, and her Mom. Fast forward a bit more, and now we have a nephew-in-law and those littles in our lives. Adding a niece-in-law is pretty darn cool, and the two of them have a close bond just like sisters should. Happy, Happy Birthday Andrea! We wish you all the best, abounding blessings, health, and the nursing position of your dreams. {{Hugs}} Love, Auntie Sue and Auntie Rose. ♥ ♥
