I Love Thursday #119 Numerous Blessings
This is the 119th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
The Winter Blues blog hop is still running through this week. You will find our Something Blue table runner and a list of the participants in this active link.
A new day with a clean and fresh start. This message resonates deeply with Sue and me. We both believe in the power of prayer and rely on it often. Even if you don’t believe in God or a higher deity, you can still go to sleep forgiving others. A little love and kindness can go a long way in every situation.
Batting upcycle! One blogger friend mentioned that they clip scrap pieces of batting to use for stuffing.
I’m sorry I don’t recall who shared this brilliant suggestion, but I really love it! Edit: Thanks to Wendy, it is Leanne from Devoted Quilter who shared the idea on her blog recently. I also chose to upcycle the fabulous container (peanut butter M&Ms) chosen to host the snipped pieces. I do have a project in mind for using up a good portion of the stuffing, but that will have to wait until next month.
Metallic thread! The embroidery witches project uses a whole lot of different colored threads and floss. During the closet search for the lightbox needed for the Salem witches, Sue wondered where the metallic thread might be. Hmm. We both speculated – I really had absolutely NO idea where it might be. Sue smiled and said, it just might be in this box.
Hmm. You think so?! This is one time her handy dandy little label marker saved the day.
Wool mat! Our friend, Carol, got us a wool ironing mat as a Christmas gift. I was happy to give it a test ride on the second snowman table topper that is in the works. Thank you, Carol! I think it works pretty darn well.
Dominic is becoming quite the artist using his easel, and he’s still picking orange as his favorite crayon. Nothing is better than a snack, a book of numbers, and Frozen on TV to watch. Don’t you agree?! Then the dynamic duo head outside, with Addison asking what is this white stuff? Dominic loves the outdoors and his Mickey Mouse hat, and Addison will give momma a big smile with her pink nose. Finally, Addison just says can we please go inside?! This is enough fun for one day. ♥ ♥ ♥
During a visit to the GGs, Dominic showed off his boots while Addison kept a watchful eye. While modeling a pair of sunglasses that were WAY too big for her, Addison knew she rocked them and is a pretty girl. Lastly, that water bottle is nearly as big as she is but Addison understands the importance of staying hydrated.
