I Love Thursday #128 Abundant Blessings
This is the 128th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
A working kitchen faucet! I went to turn on our kitchen faucet one morning, and the single-control handle came off in my hand. Hmm. That does not seem correct! I’ve never had the control lever in my hand before. Sue headed off for YouTube and after studying it for a bit we had the lever in place before you could say the word plumber.
Boy, the things you take for granted like a kitchen faucet. Handily enough we had an Allen-wrench just the right size!
Love #2
Bulbs! Our daffodils are a little bit behind this year but I suspect they’ll be opening up soon with the slightly warmer weather we are having. Not a single below-freezing night insight for the next 10 days, according to the weatherman. Also confused and either really early or late is my Christmas cactus. It sent out a pretty, good-sized blossom this month. That’s a first! Plus, I just spied a second blossom – that must be one pretty darn confused Christmas cactus.
Love #3
Prime-exclusive! “Making the Cut” with Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum is a new show exclusively on Amazon Prime. I mention this especially for LeeAnna as I know she enjoys Project Runway just as much as we do (and a few other reality TV shows). Have you seen it? They promote it as a design show rather than a sewing show – they even offer the designers a seamstress who works overnight for them. I guess new shows will be added every Friday with March 27th the first week. We’ll definitely keep watching.
Love #4
Colt! Just a few pictures of our newest great-nephew. I looked back at how often I shared photos of Dominic . . . way back when. He was just about a year when I started the slide show – I couldn’t help myself with all the cute things he was doing. This stay-at-home-order is severely limiting our spoil-Colt-time. But we’ll make up for lost time as soon as we are able to – we want him and his parents to be safe.
Sweet pea is wide awake and has figured out day from night now. We are wondering if he’s going to have blue eyes??? Maybe so . . . we’ll see.
Love #5
Addison and Dominic are used to going out and about, visiting GG, Zeus, and Gamma at the very least. Andrea did her best to keep them engaged and learning, and Auntie Sue spent some learning time with them as well. Having a painting party after work was up first. Addison gave the non-toxic paint a good taste test, and we think Andrea is a saint. She said the kitchen floor needed to be washed anyway and it was bath night! Then Auntie Sue showed Dominic (and Addison) how to pop bubbles to reveal the items that start with a “C”. Everyone was engrossed in that game, but not too much to pose for a sweet photo of my loves.
Dominic loves to ride the tricycle even if it is a bit too small for him now, and he’ll even give his sister a push. Hang on Addison! He jumps on the trampoline now without even needing the guardrail. Addison has taken over momma’s ‘purse’ that she used in clinical as her own and models it quite cutely. Finally, Addison gets some quality air time thanks to dad. She loves to play the throw-me-in-the-air-and-catch-me game. The belly laughs that ensue are quite infectious. I had to capture it in a video. ~smile~
Join us each week for our linky party called To-Do Tuesday! Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
It’s amazing how much we rely on things just working. Glad you were able to tag team a repair. The kiddos are cute and look to be managing social distancing just fine. Stay well!
Love to you all! Love seeing the babies! We had a similar plumbing issue and were so grateful we had Drano in the house. Stay safe!
Huzzah for a working faucet! And yes – bulbs are a wonderful thing – I’m enjoying the flowers coming up in this yard.
Isn’t it amazing what you can find on YouTube? So empowering, rather than calling “the man”. I will have to check out “Making the Cut”. Stay well!
Colt is adorable! So are Dominick and Addison! A working faucet is always good! I had a few days without a faucet and it was awful! Love seeing the flowers! Spring is sprung! Sort of!!
I’m impressed with your handiness! And I’m so glad you have the littles to brighten your world, and they get to benefit from having such loving aunties in their lives.
Funny thing, my nephew’s job is considered ‘essential’ in Colorado at least and he does deliveries for Home Depot…I’m thinking those faucets had to come from somewhere…
Love the newest addition to your Family Babies!
I remember when we got our girls a full size trampoline, I joined in the jumping too! LOL
We love to DIY with the help of Google and YouTube too. Tony fixes so many things himself which he loves to do but I’m the assistant. Those kiddies are so sweet and the new little one too who is already looking older. Take care, you two.
Hello Again, Roseanne I forgot to tell you that today is National Letter Writing Day!
https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/its-national-letter-writing-month-send-some-love/ar-BB122Wtw
Here is the link to read about it!! Just to make you smile a bit more and spread a bit of fun!
Hello Roseanne, Enjoy your Daffodils as they are beginning their cycle, while I am watching my Daffodils slowly finishing their blooming cycle here. It has been so wet and also very cold here that I have not been outside very much at all, drats. My Mom informed me just a while ago, the weather stations are informing us that we should expect another night of below freezing temperatures. LOL. Somewhere along the way, our beloved little corner of the world forgot that it loves to outdo most every state and show all of its spring greatness off to the world, while we Oregonians are slipping into our outdoor garden gear or even sundresses. But no, I am still all snuggled up in my boring sweats and wrapped in my housecoat!! I hope Spring decides to actually show itself before it is summer time!!!
As always, your posts are filled with so much love and delightful photos of your family! I really miss my big part of family in the Midwest, but always think of them as I read and enjoy your posts!!! I have been trying to figure out a backing block for some star quilt blocks and everything I have tried so far has just not worked. LOL. I believe today that I have actually found a block pattern that will work. We shall see. I hope that you and Sue continue to connect with family in any way that you can during this time, it truly is important! Plus, just have some fun with your fabrics and create something you have always wanted to! Dear Friends I Love You and think of you often!!!
Wow…so cute…though paint day, personally, would have killed me! LOL Colt is as much of a heartbreaker as the other two…how wonderful to have so many reasons to overload on cute!!!
YAY for Google and youtube. I have a front loading washing machine that broke. Figured out what it was, ordered a part, came, only problem a spring wire clamp is too corroded to reuse, waiting for that to arrive! Here is to female power, and the Can Do spirit. Great job fixing your faucet. Colt is very skeptical looking, but oh so sweet. Love to see Dominick and Addison and their cutie patootie selves and adventures.
Thanks for the great slideshow of the littles. Love how Addison is riding the trike hands free. They do have so much energy! Colt has such a cute button nose. Maybe the cactus is an Easter Cactus this year!! Great loves. So many smailes.
oh! Children’s belly laughs!!! The best! Colt is a sweetie and keeping them makes life a little more normal doesn’t it? We like life and as always thank you for uplifting us all! I have to watch the new show… I sure missed Tim Gunn and Heidi! Whee!
LeeAnna
cute little ones – so glad between the two of you that you could fix your sink faucet and had the right tools to do it!!
Life is never boring with little ones! How precious! Take care and stay safe!
That paint party is something I could never do! Congrats to Andrea as it looked like they all had a blast. Have to check out Heidi and Time see if I can stream it as I loved Project Runway. I haven’t watched in a while…may be a good thing to get back to in this ridiculous time.
Good job on the faucet repair! the painting party looks like FUN — how cute ♥♥
Cute little kiddos in your life right now – glad you get photos when you can’t be there in person. Way to go on the faucet repair!
Adorable Little Ones! I always wanted one of my babies to have blue eyes like Daddy but they all turned brown like mine. Our oldest had blue eyes for a month before they turned chocolate. I love my kiddoes big dark eyes now. I do also love to see their Daddy’s blue twinkle. Great job fixing that faucet, I would have called my honey to do. Thank you for sharing I Like Thursday with me … 🙂 Pat
